When did you buy it ? Yesterday a shop in Mumbai quoted 5000/- for an AK500 to my friend.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

fantumfan2003 wrote:Here is my comparison of present day IHP 35 and AK Agni 500 and 600

I own a new IHP35B in .177, saw a new AK500 in a shop and compared, fired, chrono'ed and opened (not completely) a 3 yr old AK600 and an IHP 35 in .22. Thanks for the oppurtunity, Ketan . AK are available only in .22

- Compared to older IHPs, new IHP workmanship had nose dived.
- I did not find any noticeable difference in cocking and firing a .22 IHP and AK
- In .22 caliber, If you want to choose between a new IHP and a AK500, go for the latter.
- If you want to stick to .177 caliber. IHP is the only choice availaible.
- The AK500 I saw had bluing and finish better than a new IHP.
- The AK stock rocks while the new IHP stock is pathetic :x
- AK has a scope rail which is a definite plus. It also had a cast brass trigger guard :)
- AK have a ball bearing and IHP a chisel mechanism to lock the barrel.
- Cocking lever linkage in AK is two piece, in IHP its one piece.
- The AK600 in .22 I chrono'ed, did 425 odd fps with Diana Shot pellets. Note the particular specimen was
not tuned or lubed for the past three years and is still going strong. Ditto for fps in IHP 35 in .22

Hope it helps in making a decision.
Does anyone have pricing and buying info for AK to share ?

M.
Thanks a lot for the very useful comparison. I need only .22 how many Agni models available AK 200, AK 500, AK 600 ....
what is the key difference between them. I can spend upto 5k so this is a typically newbie question. Are the parts interchangeable with IHP and can we upgrade to Gsmith spring and washer in future when we need more power or if the main spring is broken

Currently the Bombay dealer tells me that only AK500 is available. Obviously he is attempting to rip me off on the price. Feel sorry for him because I will not ask anyone to go to him and buy it from him. Instead I wil direct him to the 3750 dealer.

If you are a newbie I suggest you first buy and get used to the standard AK500. Perhaps get it tuned from a knowledgeable person but refrain from any modifications, at least initially. The spring appears to be interchangeable, the barrel needs to be checked out.

Please remember power without accuracy is nothing. Also all high power magnum springers and difficult to cock, handle and shoot.

Do let us know more, with pictures, when you get your AK.

Thanks a lot fantumfan2003.
I am visiting Kovi shop in bangalore today. What is the cost of IHP 35 in Kovi and also AK agni is available there.
Checked Tommy .22 in chennai a shop next to to cosmopolitan club. His price tag is whooping Rs 6500 painted in brown. Pandian armoury price for ihp .22 is around 8k too ridiculous price tag in chennai.

I am very desperate yellow pages section really helped me. I called each and every dealer in Bangalore. Indian Armory, Asian Armory has AK Agni but they didnt tell the price.
Kovi seems to be the lowest if you are purchasing IHP they quoted me 3.8k earlier and some dealers are quoting 4.8k  If i couldnot find AK i need to settle on IHP. Most of them having tommy and none of them having cannon air rifle.
Can any Bangalorians help me in getting the best air rifles. Any pointer and suggestions are welcome

I tried to find the advantages in the net but i couldnt find any chisel mechanism vs Ball bearing. Which one is better
And also the linkage.
I got to know under lever is more accurate than break barrel. Will this have similar power as break barrel ?

Nice one, when i first started following your thread, i didn't expect it to look this good. I hope its better than an IHP. How is the shooting with this air rifle?

Since it an under lever system do you find it easy/difficult during reloading and firing???

Regards :D  :D

What dilemma ? If you want a .22 go for the AK Agni, which ever model suits you. If AK Agni was available in .177, I'd replace my IHP with it.
