Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Aditya,
Try and increase your budget by a bit. You will be able to buy an IHP airgun which is by far the best among Indian made airguns. Try with local shops and see what pricing they offer. If the prices are on the higher side which they normally are, try to buy it from Aimco. Quite a few members have bought IHP airguns from Joy Biswas of Aimco and have found him to be very good to deal with. He offers a very good price too. All the best and happy plinking.

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
A sound moderator on an airgun would be perfectly OK, so long as the airgun in question satisfies the deal wood test. The Central Govt. notification is quite clear, any airgun which satisfies the deal wood test is EXEMPT from ALL provisions of the Arms Act, therefore the restriction on adding a sound moderator on firearms (as per the Arms Act) would not apply.browning wrote:AFAIK, NO.siddu_2u wrote:ok guys i want no trouble so i ve decided 2 go with panther 31 , with 1000 fps i cant caliculate the the silencer r allowed ?

BTW, just FYI sound moderators & flash suppressors for firearms are covered under the Arms Act/ Arms Rules Schedule I category 1(d) and the licensing authority for their possession & use is the Distt Magistrate.

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Atlast saved some cash for the air gun. What is the cost of IHP .22 in Kovi bangalore. If i am ordering from aimco what is the shipping and handling charges to bangalore. Rough estimation is appreciated
Now i came across AK Agni air gun. Is that available with Kovi or any other shops at bangalore ? How it can be compared with IHP?
Regards,
Vijay

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
thanks Abhijeet ,
i have asked this question long time ago . when i want aware of any thing . but later when i have searched for the weapon laws in America , they say its illegal to add a silencer or a sound moderator to your gun until the manufacturer confirms that it cant be detach & used with a fire arm .
( eg : Gamo Whisper )
so , silencer from America is a drop for now ...
any ideas where its legal ? i can ask some one to bring . if there are any .
& another question , i wanted to buy these 2 pellets for my gun . they say they are the best & accurate pellet available
Crosman Premiers .177
&
JSB Diablo Exact .177
are these good for Diana panther 34 & i just wanted to know whats the difference between the lighter & the heavier versions of the pellets ? which one would be better ?
& also , can i shoot indian pellets ? if yes which one ?
you can comment on the above stuff i have mentioned or you are always welcome to suggest with any other alternatives .
Thanks again
siddharth

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Hi all,
I have finally decided to buy IHP 35 This Friday. Can someone please shed some more light on .22 cal and .177 cal. I have googled it fairbit but nothing like hearing it from the horses mouth. Majority of people have recommended buying a .177 Cal. I want to know how this scores over .22 caliber. Is it also tough to get pellets for a .22 cal rifle
At the moment i want to just stick to casual plinking .I have also read A lot of discussions about various other gun manufacturers in India like Tommy, Modern , Blanca etc. Do gun dealers in delhi stock these as well and would it be a good idea to check them out too. I am planning to purchase my Rifle this Friday so hope you all can suggest me before that.
Thanks in Advance
Abhishek

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Hi,
I called up Shamshuddin Gun House today to get his price on a IHP 35 .177. He Quoted me 4500 +vat. When i asked him that there are dealers whose prices are cheaper than what heis quoting he said i might be better off to buy it from them. Is he really selling the gun at a over priced rate?

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Abhishekgopal,
Pellets are generally available easily for both .177 and .22 airguns. At least the Indian made ones are. .177 has a flatter trajectory and is used in target shooting. It is also the only caliber in airguns that is allowed in shooting ranges in India. The .22 packs more punch and has better penetration not that it's of any use as such. Try to contact Joy Biswas of Aimco for a quote on the price. See what he has to offer and then take a call. All the best.

Re: Which airgun should I buy?
Hello all,
I just placed an order for IHP National 35 0.22 with Aimco. The gun is arriving on 13th April to Hyderabad. It was real pleasure dealing with Aimco. Pretty straight forward and fast.

A couple of days back I saw an IHP national 25 (.177) being retailed for 4,000+VAT at Lodhi Sports, Mehrauliabhishekgopal wrote:Hi,

As I had suggested on your intro thread, try Art Crafts Sales (the Delhi distributor for IHP, they are in Jhandewalan) or Garg Armoury (in Kashmere Gate), both can be relied on to offer you the goods at reasonable rates. Garg Armoury also stocks the G Smith pellet range, so you can pick those up from there as well...
Cheers!
