hi Ticky
There is nothing much you can do apart from waiting if they are not picking up the phone. My application was deposited by hand but the date of registration, when it appeared on the site was of ten days later. It seems that they don't update the site everyday. They do it maybe twice or thrice a month, so even if your application has reached it'll show on the site only after they update. Anyways you still have a long wait ahead so don't get impatient so soon.
Best of luck and regards
Parag

Hi guys,
Its been quite a while since I have written here,I'am back now with a great news, eventually I have been granted a NPB pistol/revolver license and have already placed an order for a new .32"Ashani pistol,I'am in receipt of the acknowledgment letter from cossipur factory and has been advised to do the balance payment by "Oct 09",delivery of the weapon would take place in Nov-Dec 09.
Fellows I require some assistance here please ! Could any of you let me know if it is possible to bring the weapon by flight as I'am planning of traveling to and fro by air,If yes than what is the official procedure. Well now as per their letter the documents required at the time of collecting the firearm at the factory are as follows;(i)original license with valid date (ii) purchase and produce document with valid date (iii)Two Noc's from DM(Goa) one for GSF & the other for DCP to acquire transport license,Just wanted to know here if I would require one more Noc for DM/Collector(kolkota) aswell ? although the letter doesn't say so.
Gentlemen all the assistance in this matter will be highly appreciated !

Dear Mr Missile,
congratulations for Getting an Ashani booked . And regarding paper requirements , you will need an NOC from your native licensing authority. And when you will reach kolkata you will need to get a transit license from the D M Kolkata which is easily arranged by the local agents for a nominal fee of rs-500/-. You will find a lot of agents around ordinance factory who can be of good use . This transit license is even applicable for an air transit . You will need to deposit you weapon at the airport checking counter and you will be handed over your weapon back at your destination airport .And as far as I know you wont be charged anything extra for this except you routine ticket charges.
Wish you a speedy delivery of your dream toy.

i got the weapon by air, procedure is simple
put it in the check in bagage unloaded, if u are carrying bullets they must be endorsed on your licnece not a bullet more.
the weapon number on licence and weapon should be same.
declare to the security guy of the airline at the X ray counter for check in bagage that you are arrying a weapon
he will then check every thing enter your particulars in their weapon register and ask u to fill a form,
they will take away your bagage and will give it to you at the destination. all major airlines do this withour exeption.
but your licence, TL, etc should be perfect.

Dear Mr.Grewal,
Thank you so much for providing me with such imperative information ! However I was just wondering if the noc has to be addressed to DM kolkota ? As per the letter received from GSF speaks of only two noc's,one noc for GSF the second one for DCP lalbazar. So does that mean I would require a third noc for DM kolkota ?
Once again thanks very much !

Hi SAM,
GSF is right. NOC would be addressed to DCP, Lalbazar, Kolkata. There is no post of DM (District Magistrate) in Kolkata.

Hi Sam,
Best of luck for your Kolkata trip!
I'm sure that every thing will work out fine, as I have mentioned in my previous posts also, I don't think you should waste your money or time with any broker or dalals.
If your papers etc. Are OK There won't be any problems and if some thing is wrong or missing the broker will not be able to do anything, so why bother?
One more thing - don't forget to keep ATTESTED Copies of all the photocopies that you take as getting hold of a gazetted officer may not be possible.
Regards
Parag

dear mr.sandhu.they have asked you to deposit your balance amount by july that means you have to wait another 2-3 months for the delivery after july.i can say that because i have been through the same procedure but unfortunately(or fortunately) i decided to cancel my ashani four days before i got my delivery note on which the delivery date of the next month was mentioned. at that time i decided to go for a .22 iof revolver. and in january i bought a 2008 nib ashani from a dealar at 138 k.wish you a quick delivery.

Dear Mr. sandhu,
You can cancel your order any time before delivery.
You'll have to send a cancellation request to them by reg. post or by hand stating your form no., registration no. etc.
In case of cancellation of order on customers request, Rs. 500/- will be deducted as service / cancellation charges.
But the time taken for the reimbursement is not mentioned anywhere. My guess is that it'll take months,so unless and untill you're geting some very good deal somewhere else think twice before cancelling.
regards
Parag
