Ashwin,

You will not be able to get anything good for 1700/-. The IHP airguns which are the best among Indian made ones cost anything between 4 to 5000/-. You might have to do a rethink on your budget.

I agree with Prabhath take some more time and try to save up to buy something good don’t buy a cheap air gun in haste and regret later.

Hi Ashwin,

As stated by other members, your budget is indeed quite low for a good quality air rifle. Considering the accuracy, I would recommend the rifles made by IHP.

You might want to check out the link below of AIMCO. They deal primarily with IHP made air guns and also some domestic made rifles. Looks like they do have National 25 starting at Rs.3150.00 and some domestic made rifles starting from Rs.1600.00.

Recommend you go through the specs and probably discuss with a rep of the company before you buy a rifle.

Good luck in finding a rifle of your choice!

Ragu

Hi Ashwin,
Since you have No-Idea let me inform you that,
.177 or 4.5mm is the only caliber which is allowed in Shooting Competitions
.22 or 5.5mm as you have mentioned will not be allowed.

Before investing in your Rifle please consider this also or you may be disappointed that you cant compete.
All The Best for your Shooting.

I agree with Sagar, that is what happened to me got a .22 IHP and than later realise would not be able to shoot with it at the shooting range. Consider all the possibilities and go for it.....

Chris

Also please check with the Cost for postage. As far as I remember the cost that is on the Aimco site is for the rifle and Packing. it does not include shipping. I remember one of the member of IFG, getting the rifle from Aimco (it costed him around 4,700 along with shipping charges to Chennai).

Please call Aimco and confirm about the shipping charges.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

it is pretty accurate compared to other Indian make Air rifles, it is powerful also. The only problem with the IHP is its trigger which is pretty hard, however it gets slightly better after around 1000-1500shots. My one got slightly better after around 1000 Pellets through it.

Try using different pellets with .22 IHP to see which ones goes best. The united pellets from Aimco is ok, however the G-smith (very tight fit in IHP's) and Master Shots export quality round head goes well with the IHP. The Accuracy of my IHP improved a lot after using Master Shots.

You do not need any license for an Air Pistol, But definitely it can be very dangerous if the pellet hits you. So it is always advisable to get to know about the air arm safety before use of an air Pistol.

Yes you can get an Air pistol in bangalore or check out the sale section you would get some great deals.

Cheers
Chris
