Max effective range of IHP Pneumatic .177 SSP

Post by fantumfan2003 » Fri Dec 19, 2008 2:19 am

Hi IHP Pneumatic owners,

Yes its a 10mtr target rifle, but has any one tried it for long range plinking or pest control ? If yes, what would you reckon the max effective range to be.

Thanks

Manish

I used to use a FWB 603 to shoot the Bisley 25 metre Bench Rest competition and if I recall correctly the drop at 25 metres was less than 1/4" from a 10 metre zero.

Such low powered airguns should not be used for pest control.

Can the IHP Pneumatic be used for HFT or on Paper targets. Its the only SSP available made locally. Its similar to a FWB603 in specs, may be a little less accurate.

A 10 metre target rifle has dropped targets as far as 55 yards (if you loosen the nut and bolt on the Knock Down target), so you could certainly give it a try. It would be better if you scoped the rifle.

Thanks Mack The Knife,

Its almost like chatting with you right now. Of course, scoped. The IHP Pneu has got grooves for it. Time to call the doc.

Rahul,

Its a 10mtr competition gun available only in .177. Its specs are 500fps with 8 grain pellets. Even in .177 its not suitable for your use.

Australian using 10mtr match springer to hit out to 70 yds. And he can do that consistently.
Awsome, inspiring stuff.

Wish I had an IHP Pneumatic to see what it can do.

Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.
