Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Fantastic airdevil....this is probably the best thread I have seen/come across in this forum...On the G350 I machined a nylon parachute seal and tried...failed, compression was so low that pellets did not exit the barrel...then machined a derlin one and tried ....failed, it broke into two...after consulting the head of the special machine division in my company...he advised me to go with moulded Silicone...these can withstand high temperature...will expand...offer effective sealing...offer lesser drag... and can withstand impact...but not before honing the inside of the compression chamber...if you notice the inside of most indian airgun chambers..they are full of scratches/dents...only a leather washer can make up in these cases...
I fully agree with you that transfer ports in straight line to piston's axis give maximum performanance...air sealing by pellet skirt, pellets used to be of uniform size & should be little oversize to the bore...how many times I have seen people lauding the performance of pellet mfd by something like United Shot etc in IHPs...these pellets do not snug fit in the breech port and fly haphazardly after the shot is fired...only GSmith offers a tight fit...and to some extent Master Shot...most IHPs have poor breech locking systems and the leather washers used even out on the bore face/rim in no time...if you notice the O rings used in imported airguns...it has a longer and flattened top ...like what is shown in the picture below...these types offer better sealing...
thank you very much for sharing airdevil...you must continue to do so...

My new IHP Mod 35B in .177
Gati Roadways delivered the rifle to me a few minutes ago. Bought it from Aimco Calcutta.
Total cost Rs. 4748/- (3575+1173 cost of rifle, packing, shipping, octroi)
Still saved a couple of hundred rupees, had I bought it in Mumbai.
Initial impressions ? Got to live with it.
Aimco sent me a complimentary box of 100nos. Mastershot export quality pellets and an IHP calender which shows the new IHP PCP match gun, IHP Pneumatic match gun and CO2 match pistol.
Aimco came off as a very responsible and professional business house to deal wih. Very good communications and followup. Very happy to deal with them. They signed their emails as Aimco, so I dont knwo who I was dealing with. But a very pleasant experience indeed.
I'll do initial velocity tests for the IHP 35B later in the day and post results. I will now be able to compare this with the Diana 35 as well.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Re: My new IHP Mod 35B in .177
First chrony results. Used Gsmith Competion .177 pellets. All figures fps.
Straight out of the box
827
643
789
866
She was dieselling, probably oil in barrel as I am assuming she has synthetic piston washers.
The chrony registered "bad" here so spent some time figuring out what that was, shot another 4-5 pellets, changed batteries, RTFM, adjusted the position of sensors (which worked) and resumed testing.
663
654
654
669
657
So she is a 650fps gun out of the factory. I think tuning her up might crank it up to 700fps. But thats for later.
She shoots smoothly, trigger is also much better out of the box (seriously).
I'll post some pics later.

Congratulations Manish. Try the Gsmith round heads. In .177 they work really well at longer ranges.

Thanks everyone.
Planning on doing two photo reviews.
- IHP 35 up close
- IHP 35 vs Diana 35
Initial impressions regarding the latter. Compression tube dimensions seem nearly identical. The SPAR compression tube seems identical to the IHP 35 as well. Don't have calipers for accurate measurements.

I was upset that the barrel on my new IHP 35 is at an upward angle in relation to the compression tube. I thought ideally they should be at zero degrees. Turns out thats not so even with phoren wala air rifles

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Thankyou very much Ronish, but my bent barrel is of a different type.
If you look down the muzzle on my IHP, you can make out the muzzle to be slightly up and to the left.
Its not affecting the shooting but I am just upset that IHP is surely capable of better manufacturing
standards and they are not adhering to it. I am also going to write to them about this.

Re: IHP "National" air rifles & pistols
Ameyamax...
The IHP Pneumatic has a wait period for a few weeks.. other than that, the other two in your list are usually available at most stores... So, since you mentioned a 'new' rifle, maybe you should contact Aimco who has excellent feedback on their services and get yourself a nice break barrel MOD 35.. Once you get used to plinking, you will possibly mature into a nice imported rifle, and enjoy shooting even more
All the very best
