Air Rifle adjustments

Post by sagar » Mon Jan 26, 2009 8:12 pm

Hello Members,

In IHP air rifles there is a small problem adjusting Rear sight.

The Rear sight has a considerable 'Play' in 'Top-Bottom' as well as 'Left-Right'
adjustments.

What can be done to reduce or eliminate these 'Plays' ?

Thanks to all.
Regards.

Hi Sagar:

There's a small lock washer (circular clip) at the end of the windage adjustment screw - ensure that it's present. It's meant to prevent the movement you describe

Sagar,

Do you mean the sight moves when you try to move it? Or, does it move around freely, like when you shake the rifle?

If the zero does not change when you shoot the rifle, ignore the movement.

Otherwise,

The rear sight is attached to the tube by two screws. Ensure that these are tightened.

Also, incorrect adjustments may result in permanent damage to the sight.

Remove the unit and see whats the situation. A damaged screw is usually the cause.

Put up some pics if you can.

Mo.

Similar problem in old BRNOs. Here is what I did for the lateral shake/shift.
I took a new razor blade (Old type) and pushed it thru the rear sight blade and the heel its its in. Once the blade is in place, fit and nice, just force the blade in the perpendicular plane, and it will snap and break. You will have a good piece of blade in the ply portion of the rear sight which prevents unwanted lateral shifts :0

Ashok, if you notice some of the BRNOs in the KSRA range, you may still find a few with my remedies :)
