Dear Friends,
I have imported one Walther CP99 from Pyramydair by courier.
After ordering online I paid through wire transfer,
For wire transfer(w.t.) ICICI bank was big disappointment to me,they had problem with purpose of w.t.,as I mentioned to import airpistol,on duty person told me that permission from higher authorities needed, which never came,I waited for four working days,,
Then I turned to Bank of Baroda ,to my surprise on duty officer issued "FORM A1",explained me how to proceed,I submitted (1)Application letter to bank's manager about purpose of w.t.(2)Photocopy of rifleclub membership card(3)Photocopy of custom notification(4)copy of e-mail from pyramydair detailing name of Bank, account no.in which w.t. to be done.It took only three working days to submitt application ,and in 24hours money was transferred thereafter.
After 20days I received walther CP99 at my doorstep.
Thank a lot to IFG,
Jignesh

Rottlord,
I am life member of Swatantraveer Savarkar Smarak Airrifle club Mumbai. Its littlebit surprise to me even about arrival of pistol. It was delivered at my home by courier co. Fedex.Maybe paper filed at the time of w.t. was faxed to USA and courier company might have used that paper to clear the custom.

Hi All

Re: wanted .177 air rifle
Do not wait for the letter, it might take 30 to 60 days before it reaches you. Call up FPO and ask them what is the state of the parcel. They will ask you to come over and meet and get it cleared. I just got 1 rifle cleared couple of days back. PM me if you need more info.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Hello guys,
Wanted a springer for quite some time now. Went through all posts compring the merits and demerits of various air rifles . Did a few comparisions of my own , had short listed diana 34 the pro model for about 340$(without open sights, break barrel), BAM 40 with lube tune approx 380$(again no open sights ,fixed barrel), Gamo CFX with GTR 3 trigger and a tune job(had open sights and was a fixed barrel). Also liked the diana panther 34(open sights and break barrel). wanted to stick to around 500$ budget (shipping included). Initially wanted to go for a HW 97K but had a serious shortage of money . So my springer dreams turned to a budget springer dreams . Read a lot of posts on all the springers in the range :from BAM's to Hammerli Nova(wanted a fixed barrel ) . Hammerli looked great and was in the price range but had poor reviews , Diana was the complete package but some how the break barrel mechanism didn't appeal to me, BAM's were great but not in ready stock with the guy (Mike Mellick ) i was ordering from. Moreover the real problem lay in the fact that chinese springers had poor resale value. CFX was my first choice initially but was not in stock for a really long time. Also read that CFX old stock had some issues. Finally after much painful deliberatons just decided to order a CFX combo with the GTR 3 trigger(with lot of assortedv pellets and extar scope mounts) . Asked Mike to ship the scope seperatly labelled as sporting goods. Got the CFX yesterday from the FPO (delhi). Getting it realeased was quite straight forward, file did the usual table dance and landed up on the all important desk (Asst commissioner). This guy Mr S B Bhatia was kind of hostile to the whole airgun import thing . His 1st Q. Are you a renowned shooter? Ans. No saar ,want to surely become one in the due course of time. Nxt Q. DO you shoot all the time? If you are not a renowned shot how can you avail the zero duty benefit ? Ans. Saar please saar need to work a bit apart from shooting ,also need some time to sleep ,eat etc . Saar please look at notification . After this i got a whole 5 min deal on how peolple like me who take up air gunning as a part time sport are defrauding the govt of india out of revenue and the full time shooters of valuable govt resources. Anyways he was polite enough to sign the paper after making me run around for an hour. The lady who examins the parcels was a gem and pushed a the whole thing forward.. Got my air rifle by evening . Went home and started with it rite away . The CFX is a slightly barrel heavy ,the fit and finish are good. The all weather stock is quite nice ,no noticable twang. The GTR trigger feels smooth and the shots gave a ok grouping at 10 m. was using an empty ciggy pack ..The fiber optic sights are a joy to shoot with and at around 4 kgs the CFX doen't tire you out. The sad part was that Mike enclosed all of my 5 pellet tins along with the scope. so the pellets i was using were the good old P-10s. had a tin of H& N diablo but they felt kind of light for the rifle. When i went to Garg Armoury for the P-10's had a look at a soft rifle case . Was slightly over priced at 2400/- but the quality won me over. Have enclosed a few pics ..
