I would not touch the internals of this pistol. Just take two T oil and add just about a drop in the hole where the air comes out of and work the action and shoot a few shots without a pellet.chattron";p="63992 wrote: @Dev
Need some advice from you.I would like to know how to apply silicon grease on the seals especially in compression chamber.I am confused a little as i donot have silicon oil for now.Do i have to dismantle the gun to do this? Please guide me.Thanks in advance.
The Baikals are really tough and need just a bit of oil every two or three tins.
The Chap who has more experience on this pistol is prolly Jonah. Either pm him or wait for his reply.

Dev

When I had a Crosman multi-pump, i tried out all sorts of motor oil and often ruined the o-rings. Then a search for oils thru various airgun boards revealed that synthetic oil that is used as mix with regular petrol could be used.tirths";p="65066 wrote: 2T oil or Motor oil Dev?
Then I locked into 2T only to have another board member later matter of factly remark ...oh yes 2T works fine. So I normally add a drop or so when I have to lube the IZH. I think I have used Castrol 2T a small pack that costs about Rs.5 or so.
The problem with motor oil unless you can find 20W40 non-detergent type is that it is really abrasive and works as an excellent rust remover. So you can imagine what it will do to the seals. Do not use moly grease on the piston seal. Maybe a drop of 2T used judiciously...somehow I feel that you don't need to lube it...just a residual memory of maybe having read something somewhere.

Dev
