Kovi Shop in at JP Nagar. Take the left beside Woody's Restaurant, straight down the road, you will find an open ground to your right. Its on a turn just off that road. Ask somebody for the armoury and they'll lead you to it.

Spoke to them this morning,

They currently only have High Speed, and High Split in stock. at about 150-180 per box of 200 pellets. I plan to pick up one box of each in both .22 and .177, i currently have a .22 rifle, looking forward to get a crossman 1377c pump pistol soon

if all goes well

I also inquired about Air Rifles, they would be getting their consignment only by end of next month, Seems IHP was on strike and their order was on backlog for the last 6 months.

Hi,

Bought one box of .22 Gsmith high split hollow points, two boxes each of wad cutters and round top Marshal Shots. I have a Tommy Model 27, so Kovi recommended i stick to lighter pellets like Marshal. Total cost came to some 250 Rs, 150 for the Gsmith and 25 each for the marshal Shot.

They were pretty helpful, oiled and did basic cleaning of my gun complimentary, am going there this week end again to get a missing front sight replaced.

BTW they have a great collection of Guns that have come in for servicing, was drooling over them when there.

Today I Chrono'ed 4 different .22 cal pellets in my BSA Comet and the maximum variation (in velocity & energy) was with the 2 G Smith made brands.

All pellets were tested by shooting 10 times and measuring the MV each time. The angle at which the gun was held was approximately horizontal every time.

G Smith High Impact (domed) produced a maximum of 469 FPS MV and a minimum of 403 FPS MV showing a maximum variation of 66 FPS within a 10 shot string. The average for this pellet was 447.5 FPS MV.

G Smith High Force (wadcutter) produced a maximum of 471 FPS MV and a minimum of 439 FPS MV showing a maximum variation of 32 FPS within a 10 shot string. The average for this pellet was 457.67 FPS MV.

The other two pellets tested were JSB Exact Jumbo and H&N Field Target Trophy. The lowest variation (9 FPS in a 10 shot string) and highest average ME produced (11.02 FPE ME) was by the H&N Field Target Trophy pellets. It was also the only one of the pellets to come the closest to the average ME rating of this particular air-rifle (11 Foot Pounds ME).

Would you like to chrono some pellets with an HW 80 in .22 calibre as well for comparision ? I would like to see what MV and ME this HW 80 produces.

Sure, I have the chrono with me for at least a couple of weeks more (it's on loan from a friend), we could look at probably hooking up on one of the coming weekends.

The BSA Comet/ Meteor VII is merely a rebadged Gamo Shadow IIRC, anyhow will start a new thread to post my views if people are still interested.

Isn't it surprising how much thwack a .22 at 470 or so fps has? I would like to see what my qb does soon as I can get some gas. I'll wager it doesn't do more than 550 or so I guess.
