Jeetesh,

The IHP 25 is a straight copy of the Diana 25, with some simplification and shortcuts. There is a great pictorial side by side comparison of the two in the gunsmith section here.

The IHP 35 was an IHP initiative to come up a bigger and a more powerful springer. According to the doc, the 35 with synthetic seals is a 12ft lbs air rifle.

I want to chrony the IHP 35 in .177 here in Mumbai. So if anyone in Mumbai has a 35 in .177 I can meet up with you and chrony it.

The published range of 25 is 25mtrs and 35 is 35 mtrs. Thanks to you and others we know the IHP 35 has more potential in terms of accuracy and power. Especially with gsmith and other third party springs. The Norconia 3-9x40 scope works well with it too. So its got potential.

Manish...the IHP manual says....for accurate shooting upto 35m for .177cal...we shoot pepsi/cola cans at exactly 50m...I have a fitted an SMK 3 - 9X40 air rifle scope to the gun now...this is even better than than the Norconia...the gun manages to bring down the can ( 140mm h x 60mm w) with each shot..

In short, it talkes about of a good regulated breathing, not aiming for more that 8-9 sconds, and breathe out a bit then hold breth then squeze teh trigget, some sites say teh trigger should disengage as a surprise, you should not be sort of waiting for it.

You got a great looking gun, have safe fun with it :) I sometimes shoot inside my house and a telephone book is priceless in those cases :)

cheers,

the IHP is best balanced if the stock is held close to the trigger guard....the other arm with the forefinger perpendicular to the trigger and the rest loosely wrapped around the pistol grip...the elbow must be raised high up so that the butt pad gets locked up temporarily against the shoulder but ever so lightly..once the target is acquired...begin to squeeze and yes the shot must surprise you...yet do not take your eyes off the target...basic shooting manual stuff.. but it works well for me...

Fisrtly congrats on the new piece,it looks very cute! About the trigger unit,I had a close look at the picture and I doubt if a Diana trigger uint will fit-as the trigger on the Spar seems to be a bit far begind in comparison with the cylinder. Tell u what go to the Chambers site and get a print out of the Diana t-05 trigger unit and handover the same to Dr.Shirsat, see if he can match the part or will there need to be any modifications done.

Let me know later.

Take care!

My Diana 35 in .177 chronied.

Post by fantumfan2003 » Wed Dec 31, 2008 12:42 pm

Finally got her chronied today for comparison with my SPAR.
Did not make detailed notes like last time.
fps for 10 shots was 560, 570, 580 etc.
So that would average out to more like 565fps with Gsmith Competion pellets.
The surprise here was the second shot gave me 645fps :o :o
Now why would that happen ? :? :?

Both the Diana and SPAR are for keeps. :D :D :D

I'm confused. Which rifle did you test? The IHP35? The confusion is cause you mentioned that the Diana and the SPAR are for keeps..

Dieseling perhaps?

Why on the second shot and why only that shot ? Strange indeed.

Oh Ok. What calibre?

Well perhaps some lube slipped into the port after the first shot. Were the pellets lubed?

Hey why don't you install a scope on the SPAR? That'll complete the package.

Mo,

Pellets were not lubed, and the Diana 35 barrel was cleaned with a pull through with a cloth at its end.
Both my SPAR and Diana 35 are .177
Scoping the SPAR is on the cards, I'll have to make and fix a rail to it first and get a scope that wont break.
I have a Leapers 4x32 AO Mil-dot but I am scared of putting it on a springer.

Hey M (I like the sound of that, James Bondy..)

Then it must've been a bad pellet. Do another string and post the results. See if the velocity fluctuation happens again.

About the scope rail, Machine a tube that matches the OD of the action and get the rails attached to that. That way you wont compromise the strength of the action. A lil work will be necessary on the stock to accommodate the extra metal.

About the scope, it is TS rated on their website and should be able to take the light recoil of your rifle as per their website.

Mo.

My SPAR customised further......

Post by fantumfan2003 » Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:10 pm

Jeetesh was kind enough to gift me a Diana micrometer rear sight which I have put on the SPAR to customise her further. The IHP rear sight on the SPAR was damaged which prevented me from shooting her at long range. Here are a couple of pictures of the new sight on the SPAR.

Image Image

The distance between centers of mounting screws for the SPAR and DIANA are exactly the same. So this sight will fit on an IHP as well.

I am on a roll....

:D :D :D :D :D

Thanks

I'll try to put some pics. No scope rail yet on the SPAR, would love to do it as soon as possible. A variable power max 16x scope would be a nice add on to it. Leapers of course.
