Re: airgun scope imports
Officer-in-charge asked made me promise not to sell the scope in the market and I will keep my promise
Was that a verbal promise?!!!
Imports of restricted item like scopes is possible, and one cannot assume that each import will result in consfication. Since this is related to firearms, everyone- including Custom officers are likely to be cagey. One has to bear in mind that the ambiguity in the rules may lead to problems, but nowhere is it categorically stated that Riflescopes import is prohibited or riflescopes are banned. Nightvision scopes are banned under the arms act (as are silencers).

There's nothing wrong with your question. It was answered before I saw it and hence did not see any reason to reply.

No,they are not.ai";p="59689 wrote: Nightvision scopes are banned under the arms act (as are silencers).
Re: airgun scope imports
I'll check the Arms Act again, but you could do the same meanwhile. Silencers/Suppressor/Moderators (any device that is designed to supress the report of a firearm) is CERTAINLY banned for posession or manufacture in India. As for nightvision scopes, the rule is similar to the best of my recollection. I don't have a copy of the Arms Act, so kindly check.penpusher";p="59739 wrote:No,they are not.ai";p="59689 wrote: Nightvision scopes are banned under the arms act (as are silencers).

Yes to 1 and No to 2.
Also,if you have a sound moderator but you don't have a license for the firearm it fits on to,you WILL go to jail

But that I assume you mean jail is for having an unlicenced firearm. What if one has a (A) silencer only and (B) a silencer for an airgun that does not need a licence? If there in nothing prohibiting silencers, then that should be okay?
Sorry I'm going on about this, but in addition to me, several people may be holding incorrect notions about silencers and NV scopes possesion.

No?
You mean jail is for having a silencer??? Which in turn means either (a) Silencers are prohibited, or (B) They are not, but we must have a licence for them or (C) they are not prohibited, but we must have a licence for the firearm that the silencer in our possesion is meant for, regardless of whether we have a licence for the silencer or not?
Judging by the way this class is going, I'd rather be in jail!
