IHP B35 .177

Post by pkjeetesh » Wed Nov 05, 2008 9:50 am

Hi friends...it had been a dreadful week for me ...first the RWS 54 rail mechanism screws came off...next my CFX started to diesel...now my .177 IHP is shooting high...while the windage adjustment seemed okay..I have run out of clicks as far as the elevation adjustment is concerned...any ideas....

Jeetesh..
Can you check if the foresight on the IHP is bent?
Why I am asking is:
The fore sight tip is a cut out small piece of metal that is opened up perpendicular. Sometimes, for various reasons, this small protruding piece may have got bent and reduces elevation by that much. If this happens, you tend to aim higher to get the foresight tip to match the rear sight. If you bend this back to an absolute perpendicular, your shots may come back to the bullseye :)

Hi PKjeetesh
You can eliminate the rail screws from getting loose by wrapping the threaded parts of the screws by tefflon tape. For the D-54 you can also add another spring / lock washer to eliminate the problem completely. Mine had similar problems too and I corrected it this way.

The tefflon tape is easily avaliable at any hardware / tool shop & costs about INR 10/- per roll.

I would suggest all air rifle users to use this tape on all major screws where stress would get them loose.

Mack The Knife - do try this on some of your upcoming repairs, you would appreciate this tape.

Hi PKjeetesh

Could not resist asking this one -
Do you store the IHP 35B in the same box with the CFX or the RWS?

Probably the RWS learned to shed off the screws from the IHP
The CFX picked up a tip too & started to diesel.

The IHP seems to have picked up a tip on power managment from either the RWS or the SFX & decided to shoot high.

Hey man....! keep an eye on them your guns communicate with each other!!

Beware.....!
man
beware.......

you are right Shamsher....these #$*@^# seem to be communicating with each other...though not in the same box....they sleep together with their covers on...your teflon tape will now come in handy ...no teflon for these fellas screws but will definitely use it to tape their mouths
