I'm not sure yet but the Rowan engineering one is supposed to index automatically. There is a relatively wallet friendly one being made in the US that indexes manually.

This suddenly makes my "go-for-it-ness" on a QB78 much more interesting.

This is a pic from the net as I don't have a digi camera. My one is blued that's all. The on /off part is on the bottle. But you can use this with a normal paintball bottle also and it will work fine. The thin end screws on the rifle's bulk refill end. And the thicker end fits on the bottle and voila you are good to go.

I got the valve stem that he had modified, plus the ice maker tubing on the gas port and his free instruction manual on how to strip and put a QB 78 together. Co2 is not such a bug bear. You need a paintball tank and a ASA to NPT adapter. Then the local medical or industrial gas supplier should be able to fill it up.

Now a 20 ounce tank fill costs Rs. 90 and that should keep me shooting for the month. Sometimes you also get free Co2 from friends like NM. Refillable Co2 rifles are quite fun.

what's special about the mike valve system does it increases the velocity .whats the max velocity that can be achieved on co2 rifle.

what is "ice maker tubing on the gas port " ?

since i have little knowledge of co2 gun i couldnt under stand the parts/terms. but i haven't droped my idea to import another bulked co2 rifle like qb 78 or rws 850 :-)

Have you seen the tube they use in aquariums to let air bubble into the water? Ice maker tubing is very similiar. The valve tune is difficult to describe without pics. There is a modification done to the valve body to let the co2 flow better, along with modification to the valve stem. The valve stem inside the valve normally has a cylindrical shape. This is given a conical shape to again let more co2 pass. Average tunes will get a .22 to shoot about 650 to 700 fps. Some drastic tunes will get it to shoot till 780/800 fps. This is what I have read.
I don't know what mine is shooting as I don't have a chrono, but its enough for my needs. :-)

Hi,

I had somehow missed this thread for a while. Well if the threads match then it should work. You can possibly pick up the correct o-rings from a paint ball shop or but it online. All that you need is a QB 78 with the bulk fill kit from archer airguns and you should have a pretty decent air rifle for under $200.

Regards,

Dev
