Re: Custom Painted Diana 52
great job mo!
the black painted barrel looks very very neat.
You are lucky to have rusty around you,i had learnt a lot from his posts on stock finish and selective polishing while i did my own gunmark rifle stock.
your 52 is One of a kind here in IFG.Wonderful.
cheers sanjiv

Maybe the guns which has had a touch of Mack The Knife should be engraved with a "R" + <year> in an African drum-beater design.. so that decades from now, it will help future generations identify "Mack The Knife-Classics"

Thanks Dev! Im in love with the barrel finish too. To me it looks and feels better than bluing. But I want see how well it wears. Thats going to be the deciding factor.
Tenx, I was thinking of replacing the Diana bust on the reciever with Mack The Knife's. I dont think there is enough space to have a full engraving of him. Space is a constraint!
Thanks Sanjiv, Rusty is indeed a treasure trove of info! Once you manage to open the revolting chest ie!

Rusty, I actually called you two coats into the process
But yeah, the primer bit concerns me too. Only time will tell. Even if it peels, Im not going to tell you. Do I look suicidal from where you're sitting?
On a serious note, if it peels, the next job will be perfected. Though I doubt being able to find a primer base that can be procured in spray cans. May need a pro painter.
Thanks Mandeep!
