Dear ai
have been viewing some overseas airgun forums, & all have suggested to use a leapers MNT DN 460 mount. which is designed for the diana 48/52/54.
http://www.leapers.com/pages/mounting_s ... _mount.htm
this mount is screwed on to the original 11mm mount. thereafter you fix the airrifle scope.
I am myself looking for this mount. is this avaliable anywhere in India?

Dear Shamsher,
I saw the link post receiving your PM, and have seen this before. The exact link is- http://www.leapers.com/pages/mounting_s ... _mount.htm
I haven't used Diana 460 or others except M54. M54, which you mentioned you have, does not have a barrel droop (ie. pellet hits below the lowest point that the scope can aim at- happens due to the reticle being well above the bore axis in long barrel airguns) though an IFG member Babu reported one- perhaps an odd piece- so verify if your M54 has a barrel droop by switching a scope from another gun- ask me for details on this if you need). If your M54 does not have a barrel droop, then you may be unable to use this mount, as it is not adjustable. Go for an adjustable mount, or a level mount. I have used an HW one piece mount. Dampa mount will be fine as well.
Secondly, the Leapers mount is only a base, not with rings for the scope to fit in. So, you will require rings, and that too with a Weaver type clamp. Frankly, this is a cumbersome and unwarranted method, given that simple mounting systems are available. Also, this will take the scope well above the gun, which is not a good idea for a flat shooting gun like M54. In fact, with the M54, you could simply use a Leapers/Accushot 2 piece mount with an in built arrestor pin. That will be the lightest and the most economical method. I recall Sid had an Accushot mount.

Re: scope for RWS M54
I just checked with a local arms dealer here in Hyderabad.....he showed me two Bushnell scopes...a 3x9-40 and a 3x9-40E...problem is....both have twin mounts only...do you think this will work on the M54...I picked up a suitable arrestor block from him...for later use...or will I need two of them?

No. If the Bushnell scopes are models of Sportsman, they will work. See this link, and on this website, look for scope de.scription for whether they are suitable for airguns.pkjeetesh";p="57090 wrote:I just checked with a local arms dealer here in Hyderabad.....he showed me two Bushnell scopes...a 3x9-40 and a 3x9-40E...problem is....both have twin mounts only...do you think this will work on the M54...I picked up a suitable arrestor block from him...for later use...or will I need two of them?

Arrestor block has to be suitable for Diana Rails. Pl check. One is sufficient.

Please help me in choosing between a one piece lockdown scope mount or a two piece mount for my 350 magnum .22 caliber im scared of breaking my scope. As I usually shoot 50 yards lying down I need to move my scope and while standing prone i need to move the scope again therefore which mount would be better........ pls advise
