What is the type of IOF Ashani pistol ? Is it a single action or double action pistol ?

Hi Gun Gurus,

As per the posts on this topic, I came to know that the .32 pistol from IOFB has a concealed hammer. By looking at the pic, I was under the impression that this pistol doesnt has any hammer at all !!

I have fired 9mm Llama pistol and I could see a distince hammer in it. This hammer gets cocked whenever we pull the slide or a round is fired. Also we can manually release or cock the hammer with our thumb. When the hammer is cocked the trigger pulling a lot easier. So cant we do this in the .32 IOFB pistol ?

A few more questions Smile

1. What is the price of cartridge of .32 IOFB pistol ?
2. I read on the forum that the range for this pistol is 27 meters. So what does it mean ? the bullet travels only upto 27 meters or the effective range is 27 meter and the bullet actually goes much further than that ?

Regards.

Regards,
Rocky.

Hi Rocky,

Welcome to IFG.

Concealed hammer means just it- It is concealed and you cannot manually cock or uncock it. The design borrows heavily from the Colt M1903 Pocket hammerless. The slide encloses the hammer entirely.

The price of KF .32ACP cartridges will vary from place to place. Here its an insane 60-70bucks per pop. It tends to be less expensive your side.

The effective range being 27meters is somewhat hypothetical. It generally means the pistol has been tested and proven to deliver consistent ballistic performance upto this range. Like any other ammunition, in absence of any obstacle, it'll travel a whole lot farther with rapidly decreasing velocity and energy....naturally gravity will cause it to travel in a parabolic path till it hits the ground.

As you all must have noted, both the fore and rear sights on the ashani are all most nonexistant.
Can new sights be attached to the pistol?
How will the putting of new sights affect the performance?

Ideally Range is the best place (one of the members could have helped you with it)......since its closed these days for renovation....you will have to look for some private venue.....

Dear sumo,
IOF pistol has no major changes since 2003 & it is O.K. condition pistol in Indian concept.
