Thats strange !! I didn't know that . I do know that Winchester gifted 10,00,000 th model 94 rifle to President Coolidge, but IOF doing the same thing is something strange !!

Can dealers be trusted?

A lot of them have more stories than Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson! :)

These IOF .22 rifles are quite good actually.

A close shooter friend has one. I had brought for him a scope from Dubai. A simmons 4 x 32.

Mounted the scope on it, where it sat firmly and then took it out shooting for some fantastic results last week. I would say a true value for money rifle in present conditions where a BRNO model 2 sells for Rs. 150,000.

Well said guys but "phoren" gun ensures that status which desi doesnt even if that gun is 60 years old and most of the folks hardly shoot these guns anyway.

But there are problems of and on that need some talented gunsmithing.

One of my shooter friends has an IOF .22 LR where the safety catch is suspect. On pulling the safety catch to fire position many times the rifle fires. These are the kind of things that need fixing for definetely it is very unsafe to carry this rifle if a round is chambered.

Also the magazine release lever is very crude and requires a lot of force to slip out / slip in the magazine.

Yes it can be without any problem with absolute safety. I must have fired hundreds of them. So can CCi velocitor, Winchester Power Point any other HP bullet and the desi IOF rounds.

Visit the CCI website and have a look at what ammo is being produced these days. Visit Eley website.

While on CCI site enjoy a game of shooting prarie dogs in a garbage can as well! its fun.

Parag,
I had a bit of a problem in fitting the scope. With a 40 m.m. objective, the scope was fouling with the rear sight.
(Thanks to Mack The Knife for his advise) I got 2 high mount clamps and it works fine. I have used one, the other one is lying with me, if you have similar problem, you can have it F.O.C. You have to pay for the postage though.
Pl. contact me by P.M. with your address if you need it.
Best of shooting.
Prabir
