Yeah, I've used heat shrink. Its great to keep soldered batteries together etc. But methinks it'd tear with all the friction. Its not really strong being something similar to wrapping the guide with insulation tape. But it will definitely damp a lot of the vibrations.
Have you tried this?
It is indeed strong to take friction. But make sure to debur the spring. You can use hair dryer for the heat-shrink to fit on the spring guide and then screw the spring on it. Try this you will enjoy.
Yes. I have tried it before. It works like magic

... Just a passing thought. I know of one insulation tape used for wires in bore-wells. The tape is climate-resistance and tolerates possible friction with rocky surfaces in bore-wells. This tape is basically used like an insulation tape, wound very tight, and then introduced to some heat. Once heated, the tape wraps blends with each other and becomes close to one outer lining...
... Will this help, considering ease of availability and cost?

Delrin may not be the right option for spring guide unless it is solid. Brass could be an option. But better to keep the stock guide and use a "heat sink" to fit the spring.
My suggestion for using Delrin was based on a few online articles I'd read by airgun tuners overseas. I have never tried it so cannot comment on how effective it may be. However, if I am not mistaken Gamo uses Delrin or some similar material to make the spring guides on its airguns - so I'd imagine it cannot be too bad a material to work with.

The material you refer to is nothing but plain 'ol rubber. IIRC the tube well chappies call it
"kuccha rubbard" (raw rubber). I'd think it would be way too soft...

Gamo's piston is different that IHP and therefore the Spring Guide. Delrin or Plastic can be used in Gamo but not in IHP or Diana.

Hey Guys! I have some news!
Yesterday I was at Kovi Shop to have my gun lubed and much to everyones surprise: The National 35 comes with Teflon washers as default!!
The service person had no idea that this was the case either.
They promised to get some supplies from IFG soon. So if anybody's been planning to get Teflon washers for your old IHP, you know where to check now.

Mo, how did you know it was teflon washer? Teflone washer is not easy to make. Moreover compression chamber of IHP is not at all up to the mark to take Teflone washer.

Why couldn't the guys who make the whole air rifle have the capacity to make a teflon washer?

Well said Dev.. Maybe someone sitting on one of the comfy chairs thinks that springs and piston are more important than washers

@Tenx: I really need to stock up man!
Is that really need enough? I can use a couple more really's there!
Mebbe the next time you go there, you can get me a couple eh? Thanks bro!
@Tirth: Thanks for the data bro. The service guy at the armoury said its Teflon. He said he's changed with teflon washers for other customers and that its teflon itself. I had been to him to install the G-Smith leather washer, but he said not to do it..
