Sid, isn't that what forums are for? Schnauzer for a small dog, "Great Labenese" for a big one. Probably couldn't take the heat, though. Cheers

Sid on a more serious note maybe you ought to consult your ma on what kind of a dog would she be happy with.
Dogs as puppies are cute & cuddly but grow up mighty fast and then may not look so cute anymore !
My experience with dogs is that they are very very sensitive & perceptive creatures and like to be treated as a part of the family so much so that you may look at them akin to a child or a sibling if you know what i mean.
Also today the vets are very very thorough and i can safely tell you that my litttle Trigger has made more trips to the vet for its normal course of injections etc than i have ever seen say couple of years ago. Trigger has been made to have more tonics than probably my daughter ever hand when she was a toddler.

All im saying is that bringing up a dog today(actually always) is a lot of commitment which you shud be willing to make so that you guys are one happy family.

Cheers Rohit.

I did just that and she has decided that a chihuahua would be a perfect choice. Easy to clean up and go for a walk with and on the rare occassions she actually misses Sid....

Wise lady!

Chihuahua.... she'd be more happy with a soft toy than a chihuahua..

Well i spoke to her, all she said was the dog shouldnt be someone so big that it's difficult for her to take him out for a walk, plus her biggest concern was the same as me......
Any breed should do but it should be a healthy one....

Now am actually confused between a Lab and a Pug....

Cheers

Lab and Pug. :D

I dunno, can you even compare the two SidKid, they are as different as chalk and cheese. I'll still say black lab buddy.

Nice dogs Karizman.
If I need a Rottie I know who to call now :)

I would go with a lab, several friends who have pug have complained about some kind of breathing (nasal) problem.

Here are few video links as well to know how easy it is to handle a well trained, properly excersized dog.

1) Just a kid
2) Concentration
3) Once again a kid

Sid,

A doggie is a huge responsibility.
The pug or the lab are decent choices.

Personally I would get a Great Dane. They are lazy, low manitenance puppies. Mine is currently four years old... and still thinks that she is a puppy.

I got her in Hyderabad, and when we moved to Europe I moved her as well. Which was difficult and expensive but she is a part of our family.

Good luck

Sorry didnt intend to run away from it....

It's just that my friend's cousing is planning to get his b**ch mated sometime soon (the mating season) and has promised a lab puppy to me from that very litter....

According to him the dog and the b**ch both wont have any hereditary problems, so i'd guess it'll be best this way...

And dont worry it aint going to be my first dog i've had two before.. and they both were absolute sweethearts

Cheers
Siddharth
