Diana air rifle dealer gunmark of Pune

Post by sudhaiob » Sat Dec 29, 2007 3:56 pm

Hello there,
i was browsing though the old entries on airguns and woul like to relate my experience with Gunmark of Pune. they are listed as the dealers in India for Diana. i had made enquiries about the availability of models 350 magnum and 52 and was told that the order would be executed after a month. after constant prodding i was informed some 3 mpnthes later the the 2 weapons were ready at rs. 40 and 41 respectively,BUT he wanted the amount in cash through somebody in pune and said that DD's were SRICTLY NO -NO. I backed off the deal as there was no assurance on delivery after payment.did any of you have had similar experiences

sudhaiob...if they were saying to give cash thru some1 in Pune, it obviously means they wud be handing over the weapon against the cash (i presume).

Anyway, the Gunsmith guys are quite reliable & in any case this is weapn handover against cash. Unless they are asking the amount as a booking amount & then promising the weapon after a month or so...in that case, I don't think too much of trust needs to be invested with anyone!

Cheers!

hi,

i contacted g smith recently, they are quoting INR 48000 for a diana model 54. seems very high to me, even if you count in all transportation costs + duty charges and a very nice profit margin.

Freinds, I am in Coimbatore and I paid Rs 20000.00 by draft to Mr.Kulkarni for a Model 35 second hand Diana .22 with 800 pellets. The Gun arrived safely by XPS in a week. I have placed an order for 5000 pellets with advance payment. I have had about 3 transactions and I feel they are trustworthy.

Rs. 1.25000/- only for Diana 350 Magnum

Post by karizman » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:40 am

I just came accross this Orkut community & thought sharing it with our fellow forumers.
Just visit this link & you can buy it http://www.orkut.co.in/CommMsgs.aspx?cm ... 0011495649
I have seen that this perticular gunshop has been glorified or mentioned on our forum for many a times. Many people have been forwarded new comers to this perticular shop for their requirements of imported weapons & accessories. I just can't estimate how much damage this person must have done to the sport for his greediness & still he is being mentioned on our forum.

I also doubt about his so called representative of so many international firms since no commercial import of weapons is allowed then how come all these foreign firm appointing him as their agent?

I am currently undergoing talks with one of the reputed german firm regarding some technical issues & have asked for his claims. I will post here the replies as soon as get from them.

But till then I hope no one from our forum should guide anyone to such a doubtful establishments or persons.

Hi

The prospective buyer ought to ask himself...

What is he going to do with a 350 Magnum ?

If the reason is on the lines of ...."I just got to have it" then pay the price ...in whatever form....and enjoy.

But ....think about this....Its the buyers love or passion or even desperation to own a 350 Magnum (or similar) that the dealers exploit.

Its unfair but that is how it is and I guess finally its the prospective owner to blame.

Dealers are business people who will capitalize on supply demand situations...It is rampant with firearms in India and air guns are going or have gone the same way.

Until our laws on the matter are rationalized, the situation won't change...well not quite...there is a middle path...import yourself and go through the "drill". It might be worth it.

name and shame brother. who is it you are talkin about?

there are certain airguns in the market that do command premium rates, custom tuned/stocked,engraved,blinged. however, not sure if a 450 magnum would be anywhere near them in terms of looks or accuracy or pure shooting pleasure, specially when it's being offered at the same (bloated)price as an anshutz/brno 0.22 rimfire in good nick (in india, mind you)

You know I've yet to see anyone who will buy an airgun for that much no matter how alluring, simply when most addicts know that they can import one with very few hassles.

Not that I support the dealers but there's an old adage," A fool and his money are soon parted."

You'd be surprised, Dev. I know of one person who bought two airguns for 1.0 and 1.2 lakhs and they were both in .177" calibre. Neither airgun was exceptional other than being PCPs.
