Have not the Chinese Air Guns appeared in the Indian market.
Here in Dubai Al Sayad imports them and sells them pretty cheap for Dhs. 80 to 100 ( Rs. 850 to 1100 ). He also exports container loads of then to Iran, which is the real reson for their imports in the first place. There is some cheap chinese pellets as well,
While driving on the Dhaid - Masafi highway or in the Hatta area I often came across these Chinese airguns being sold in groceries for prices ranging between Dhs. 120 to 150.
In the magazine Air Gun Worls picked up in the UK a few years ago there was even an article with some pics on how to fine tune a Chinese imported Air Riflle.

A better trigger, synthetic seals, cup washers for the stock screws and a scope rail would be very welcome additions.
The rear sight contains a plastic piece which works loose after a year or two of regular use and causes the rear sight to shift ever so slightly with every shot. This item needs to be made of metal.
All of the above for 6-7K should be a good deal.

i bought my 1st national airgun over 20 yrs ago it was very accrute even with our local made pellets .it was a pity to let it go for a cannon air gun which turned out to be a smooth bore i often wounder if at that time parts were imported to build the national air gun.

My understanding is, the entire machinery and setup to manufacture the Diana Model 25 was imported in 1967 by the then CMD Mr. Walchand who was himself an avid sports shooter.
The IHP Model 35 was a local modification and improvement effort. It is not a direct copy of the Diana 35 as many believe.
OT : IHP also had a sidelever springer and a CO2 .177 air rifle which was actually a copy of a Hammerli design, this one WAS built with imported parts in India.

I started shooting with Tommy airguns some 30 years back and used them for over ten years with great satisfaction. Any idea what happened to the company?

Dear IFG members
The Indian Hume Pipe Co. Ltd established its National Rifles Division in or about 1972. They had a technical colloboration with Hammerli then.
They used to manufacture CADET Co2 air rifles, KAHL brand side lever a/r and 25 Model (.177) in break barrel.
Then Late Shri Bahubali Gulabchand used to see over this division. They also gave a running trophy in sports shooting as Walchand Hirachand Trophy.
We have been dealing as their distributors since first day of manufacture.
Cheers

If the gas is leaking from the probe in the bolt (the usual problem with this model) then all you need to do is change the small "O" ring after completely disassembling the bolt assembly. Take out the original and scrounge around the bazzars selling industrial parts/ instruments you should be able to find it after a little effort.badshah0522";p="47295 wrote: Dear Mr Kezar ,nice to hear from you.

If you want I have 3-4 spare "O" rings of this type lying with me, leftover from the days when I used to own a National Cadet myself (back in the 1980's). They are old, but should work alright. There's no charge for them, but you'll need to have them picked up from Delhi though, PM me if you're interested.
Cheers!
Abhijeet
P.S. - I also have an adaptor for this model which allows it to use the small CO2 powerlets in stead of the usual screw in bulk fill, if you want you can have this as well.

Re: POLL : What is the maximum price you would pay
i would pay a maximum for an ihp , if it is with
1. synthetic piston & breech seal
2.a 2 stage trigger like diana 25d or 27mod--- i think it need only a few parts in extra
3a scope rail -- many cheap indian guns has it
4.shims around pivot joint .
5.a good recoil pad instead of plastic one
6a metel cylinder end cap instead of plastic one.
