Thanks, A_C. Can you tell us what the retail price is going to be? Assuming that the ex-factory price has truly been revised by IOF.

I wonder, does it have an adjustable trigger pull with different positions ?
Quite looking forward to getting my hands on it....

hi guys
saw an iof 30-06 with a dealer today. i must say that the rifle is pretty decent. the bolt mechanism in particular was quit smooth. although the shi#*y coloured butt and the finish of the metal were poor. it has alot of potential if re done by a competent gunsmith... even the safety mechanism is exactly copied from the sauer. the reserve price was confimed at 74 thousand rupees but the dealer was retailing it for 1lac 24 thousand rupees(what a rip off). but considering the pevious models of iof guns this one was impressive. would definately buy one if available at reserve price whenever.

Reserve price I guess implies to the Bank draft amount to be remitted to Rifle Factory Ichapore, WB.

If that price is 74 K then local state taxes, ST, VAT, Octoroi, Freight, Dealer's margin would get it upwards of Rs. 100,000.

Even then its worth it.

by the reserve price i meant that if you intend to buy from the factory...74K is going to be the cost you will have to pay including taxes.

Visho, when you say, "if you intend to buy from the factory", who is the 'you'? According to the IOF notification these rifles can only be bought by dealers.

So, is 74k the price the dealer pays IOF or is that going to be the MRP?

no idea about the notification Mack The Knife.... but i guess sooner or later these rifles would also be available to nrai members at factory prices. right now it is a win win situation for the dealer as he can ask for whatever amount over the cost price . but the situation is bound to change as soon as production rises to full capacity.

From what I understand, Rs 74,000/- is the price that the dealers are supposed to sell this rifle for.Off course,can only be sure once I see the actual bill/invoice.The price has come down by about 10,000/-.Were being sold for 1.25 but a day back was quoted one for 1.15 .Any one who buys now would definetly lose money unless they can get it at the sale price set by the factory(controlled rate).When the IOF .22 had come out ,they were sold for a hefty premium.I think some were sold for 40-45,000/- or there abouts.The same would be the case of the IOF 30-06.

.315 rifle were being sold for 55-60 some years back.The IOF increased production and now the going price is 45,500 dealer to dealer and 48,000/- from dealer to licensee.

.315 with a reloading kit does make a lot of sense.

Gentlemen,

Has anyone test fired the new IOF 30.06 ? If yes , what are views about the action, loading, accuracy etc? Since the dealers are quoting about 10K less than what they were quoting a week or so back, there is all the possibility of this firearm selling very close to the original price soon. Basically same as what happened to IOF .22.

It would be very interesting to hear an early performance review of IOF 30.06
