Ze' SidKid did manage to destroy a bit from his allen tool set today, but thats another story :D.
He now needs a REAL scope as the one he has is proving to be  (he'll tell you more). Other than that the trigger of the B40 (don't say BAM  or the drunken minkey shall strike ye down) when I first shot it today was really breaking like glass (very thin glass). So we set about tweaking it, I could feel the trigger better after the tweak.

We had a decent turnout today (Olly,me,Sid and his friend,Dev,Yash and his brother Shreyans) didn't really have the match but I was more than happy to try out dev's baikal. It's really smooth and was making good groups. Rusty, lets have a postal match :) You vs Dev.

Mundaire was out of town so his phone was unreachable since Saturday, maybe next week then.

Oh Lordy! First the open sights, then the trigger and now Allen keys! Why do I get this feeling that I would be very afraid to have him anywhere near my guns? Anyway, I am off to Google instructions on how to use an Allen key for our minkey.

On a more serious note, please do not adjust the sears so that they are on a knife edge as that could prove dangerous.

If he wants a good airgun rated scope then he could do worse than buy the Bushnell Legend 5-15x40 in the sale section.

I'm game. The AP needs an airing, if you will pardon the pun and this is as good a reason as any. What sort of comp would you like it to be...barring a duel at 20 paces, that is.

ok the allen keys got screwed because they were some cheap one i bought for rs. 50 (OUP of all the people you should be the last one to comment - you were the one to give it the first try in the wrong direction). i've asked my office guy to get the complete set by next week. the one with all allen keys and other stuff (the good ones).
The scope i've ordered is a Hawke 4X12 - 50 airgun rated one
with double screw - single peice mounts :D
And lemme get things into order and then i challenge you all to a postal match with air rifles only (no pistols i cant hold em stable)

till then..

Cheers
Siddharth

'Yesterday the rifle's trigger felt a little too light. I couldn't make out the second stage and thought that it needed a little more weight.'

'I have barely shot 50 or so pellets thru the baikal so the match will have to be max of twenty pellets as I don't yet have the ability to shoot a long match. But why don't all of us shoot a postal match. There are some fine rifle shots among us and one minkey!

Regards,

Dev

Oooh... ze minkey fancies his chances does he? Ofcourse, this is subject to the rifle still being in working order until the scope arrives.

If there is any chance you can cancel the order on the scope, then get yourself a MTC Cobra 3-9x42. Note the position of the '-' and 'x' signs.

I have barely shot 50 or so pellets thru the baikal so the match will have to be max of twenty pellets as I don't yet have the ability to shoot a long match.
Not a problem. Since you are serious about competing at state and national level, this will be good practice for you. How does the following sound:

1) 20 shot match, not including sighters.
2) 30 minute match includes time for sighters.
3) 4 cards with 5 shots per card.
4) One match per week or two matches per month.

We can then start a new thread titled, "Dev's road to shooting glory" and you can mention me in dispatches when you get that Olmpic gold.
But why don't all of us shoot a postal match. There are some fine rifle shots among us and one minkey!
Set it up but make it interesting aka non-ISSF format if possible.

Hey Rusty,

OT to this thread but now there are so many good rifles and Targets in Bangalore. Lets setup a small HFT course. I am sure someone from Bangalore will have access to enough land for HFT.

So Bangalore guys.. wanna do it.. who knows we end up starting first proper HFT club in INDIA.
