Remington BDL 30-06
Members,
One of my friends is being offered a NIB Remington BDL 30-06 for Rs.600000/-. Is it worth a buy. Any suggestions on this will be highly appreciated. Feedback from knowledgeable members about this particular rifle is needed.

some one known to me bought this rifle recently and brought it to me to test fire it (lucky me). it is a very nice and accurate rifle ...the only problem was the recoil due to the steel butt plate...which was later rectified with an imported soft rubber butt pad...it gave us a group of under 1.5 inches at a 100 yards

Prabhat,
Remington BDL is the top of the line rifle by the Remington Arms Co. One of the better ones amongst
"off the shelf" rifles. If it's brand new as you say then sky's a limit as they cant come into our country anymore as a sporting rifle. My close friend bought one two years ago for 2.s Lacs though. These rifles come already equipped with a Remington's own original recoil pad, sport a rosewood fore end and grip cap. At least the one I saw and shot had it. One should try getting hold of it for under 5 Lacs, just in MHO.

Decent rifle but not worth the asking price. If your friend can wait for some time it would be worth checking the IOF .30-06 that is due in the shops some time this year. He should be able to get this for just a little over one-tenth the price being quoted for the Remington.Prabhath";p="44766 wrote:One of my friends is being offered a NIB Remington BDL 30-06 for Rs.600000/-. Vishosingh, are you sure it was a steel buttplate? My friend has a similar rifle and his buttplate was a Bakelite type of material.
