Long range target shooting with air rifles....

100meters is 100 meaters and 1km is 1km.

when one talks about long range shooting it is usually refers to 500 meters plus. not 50 meters or under.

and ur are right in thinking that it may not be possible air rifle to go up to 1km.

i was just fishing around up there for while, so please do not mind my post.

i remember reading a thread on airgunbbs titled..."you know you are an airgunner when..."

long range to you is anything beyond 50 yards
the scopes you mount are heavier than the gun you shoot below them
you are worried about wind at 25m

and a few other pearls

I doubt if a pellet from even a venom kit equipped HW 80 in .177 calibre will travel 1000 m.

It will drop to the ground by 350 to 400 m.

The Air Rifles if any that shoot such long distances must be of some special kind.

And the energy in the pellet beyond 200 m will be minimal.

My HW-77K is venom equipped but I haven't tried such a long shot... the max i've shot is a gas balloon at about 200 mts with a drooping compensation of about 2"....
