Hi Denzil,
I see that you are slowly getting the hang of where to post what. I am however, taking the liberty of editing your post title to a more appropriate one - so that it reflects the topic a bit better.
Cheers!

Re: Info on (performance of) the IOF .32 Revolver
If you are a reasonably good shot you may be able to place your shots within a human body sized target. Say a max range of 25 yards.I want to know the distance at which this weapon is acurate.
10 feet would be a better bet though in most cases. What size group did you get?
They only imported rounds I have seen for it are Magtechs. There should be others though.I want to know which Imported rounds are available
A couple of hundred yards at the very least, so keep fall of shot in mind.upto what distance it can fire?
PLEASE!I want to know the answer of the above said topic

With about a 2 1/2 inch barrel, you should be able to place your KF shots in a 6" circle at 15 yards Denzil.
As for ammo availability, where are you located Here in India what options do you have? the choices are very limited and larn to place your shots with KF ammo as it is the cheapest and most freely available...no use buying magsafe ammo and firing 5 shots a year as it is sooo expensive and may not suit your weapon...

Denzil,
DO NOT use any imported ammo in the IOF rev .If you do, it won't last very long.Though the IOF claims to produce 'world class' stuff,if anything goes wrong with your rev. ,the first thing that the IOF chaps ask is if you have used any imported ammo.
Considering the trigger pull and the short barrel, not to mention its poor build quality( misallinged cylinders and excessive gap between cylinder and barrel, are common problems),I would suggest limiting yourself to 10-15ft range. That would also be the range at which you would be using the rev. if ever you are called upon to do so.Firing six shots is hardly the sort of practise that would enable you to use the rev. with any degree of proficiency.
Take care,

So the bullet has a fair bit of jump, penpusher? didnt see any lead shavings the last time i let off on one.
5 yds-sounds good for starters, and KF.Didnt know the 32 was meant for use solely with IOF , just as the 22 is meant only for hi power use!

The one's that have this problem are VERY loud and the lead shavings and unburnt powder is ejected sidewards and in some cases backwards after hitting the ear like projections in front of the cylider( can't remember what they are called) with sufficient velocity to perforate paper kept next to the cylinder.
Take care,

Re: Info on (performance of) the IOF .32 Revolver
what I understand is that this revolver is crude copy of the old webley model for the 32 S&W long cartridge, Rigth?
Remember that Magtech make a full power lead roundnose bullet load. Say full power because most loads for this cartridges are wadcutter bullets only strong enough to punch paper at 25 meters.
The only other manufacturer for the full power load is Fiocchi/Italy if I remember it correctly.

Hi Everyone,
Today I want at my farm and over there I shot 8 rounds of KF with my revolve iof (.32) on the target sheet at 25 m and the bullet struck in the circle of 4". That was little good, but what happened at the 8th shot the shell got stuck up in cylinder and I could not ejext the cartridge. It got expand. These Kf are not that good. I want to use import one and see what I get with them.
Cheers!

Hi Denzil,
Looks like you have a good piece. The cartridge case getting stuck is due to the ammo, just wait for it to cool and eject it. It happens a lot with the .22 rounds but the new ones I have were okay. Were you using a double hand hold or a single hand. Seems pretty decent but I haven't shot much of centerfire powder burners.
Regards,
Dev

Denzil, Try to mark the cylinder where the case got stuck-if it happens again in the same cylinder, you may have to get the dimensions checked...Good show on the 4" group. What were you shooting? single or double handed?

IOF .32 Revolver - Buying Experience
Booked with the Small Arms Factory, Kanpur in mid September with DD of Rs. 6000/- and a request letter along with copy of the Arms License, duly attested by a Class I Gazetted Officer, endorsed with NPB Revolver / Pistol.
SAF Kanpur responded back in November asking for the balance amount along with another copy of the Arms License. Sent the DD for the remainder amount.
Silence till December 5, when I requested my Bro-in-law (in the Army) to speak to the GM and get the weapon released. Got the info that the revolver stands released and can be collected anytime. However, if the laser sighted one is required, then wait till mid Jan. So I decided to wait to get the new stuff.
Got the NOC from Delhi Police to bring in the weapon from Kanpur. Only required if the license is not valid for UP State.
Reached Kanpur early morning and went to DC Office for the Transport License. It is a well oiled mechanism and for about 100 bucks, the guys get it done for you.... it is quite a cumbersome process if u do it on your own... the bank, the treasury, the forms and stuff AND within 10am to 12pm. I simply paid Rs. 400/- in all, where about Rs. 280/- was the official deposit. Got the TL by about 12.30pm. Have made the contact so that one just sends papers by courier and the guy will deliver the TL straight at the SAF in the morning. So technically no need to go to Kanpur one day in advance.
Next day, started at 7.45am for SAF, Kanpur. Costs 60 bucks one way by autorickshaw and the guy will wait for your return if you pay Rs. 150/- in all. In SAF, mobile phones ARE NOT ALLOWED. So if you are alone, it can be a problem, as in my case, had to give it to one of the security guards along with 50 bucks.
In SAF, it takes about 2-3 hours for the documentation and physical verification of docs. One should carry all concerned papers in original, as the officer has to be satisfied with all the papers. They give out about 25-30 revolvers in the first shift (pre-lunch). No problem there. They do not give ammunition. The stuff about the laser sight was all crap.
Also made contacts with guys selling beautiful holsters for the revolver. Got about 4-5 for myself...all types - waist, shoulder, slinging etc. etc. The prices are DIRT. The most expensive was the shoulder type for about 450/-. Rest range between 250-350. Holsters can be sent by VPP by the guys.
Hope haven't missed out anything. Yes, purchased the bullets from KK Sharma Arms, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi.
Now, no place to fire the revolver to see if sparks fly out from anywhere !!!
