Actually its true...

You are right....a prospective gun buyer like me would first explore all other possibilities to get an imported pistol..... only when nothing else worthwhile is available in our budget , do we go in for IOF.....

Hey Nishant,
you are quite right. I have been on the hunt for the past almost 4-5 months and looks like i may have to settle for an IOF, just for the same reasons quoted by you.

The IOF pistol suffers from inconsistent quality. However if you look around, you can find pistols that are pretty well made. This is obviously possible only in the used market. If you find a good example, it would be just as reliable or unreliable as any imported pistol.BTW the firing pin has a tendency to break if the pistol is dry fired too many times.

Most of the Gurus in this forum are IOF-haters. But till date never saw a IOF Pistol or Revolver malfunctioned at the range. But saw a PPK .32 and a Hammerli .22 malfunctioned/jammed during firing (both firing imported cartridges). It is true the finishing of IOF products are poor but they are well-functioned guns.

WELL i Have listened to many people stating that even if the IOF handguns gets spoiled we can go for another one just like we exchange mobiles every 2-3 years & my experience of IOF pistols is that it get jammed while firing sometimes the hammer placement pin inside the pistol is displaced from its original hole postion after firing few shots thus jamming the entire slide & functions which is very dangerous for little know how persons since there is always a live ctg in the chamber.
The imported handguns malfunctions because of their worn out parts cause what ever we are using in INDIA 2 day is almost 22 years old.

Wow it looks excellent... I know now how my pistol would look once I get it!
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”

Uptill now IOF pistols are coming in Nickle finish.
There are talks that teflon coated finish will be available in the near future but god knows when they will be available. And whether IOF will charge extra or not. As far as the picture is concerned there is a pic on this forum itself but I don't remember where.
