Hoppes No 9 is great for firearm barrel cleaning and general lubing. Using it on your springer will slowly but surely ruin it. Use appropriate air rifle only lubes if you want to shoot for a long time.

Ya Mack The Knife! you are probably right!I checked on the net while browsing the internet & on google just check by posting (airgun leather washer lubing) and see what comes up! Hav,nt touched my airgun so far as I have been down with allergic congestion.By the way where can I get a synthetic washer fitted.
Spoke to Kulkarni about 2 weeks ago as he was in Delhi enroute to Germany & Europe.He said he would be back on the 16th or 17th of March which is today.

Despite what it says on that link, I remain sceptical about using Hoppes No.9 as a leather washer lubricant. If you do intend to experiment, it would be best if you had a spare washer at hand.

Yep!!! You guys have double minded me!! What a waste of importing gun oil prior to investigation knowing fully well that I have you guys(IFG)to refer to from experience.Anywys 22USD down the drain.
By the way Mack The Knife anywhere can I buy a synthetic washer.There's no hurry I still have to try out the gun once the doc gives me the go ahead.March/April is a bad time for me with this ruddy allergy.

I must repeat that I am not 100% certain about the use of Hoppe's No. 9 as discussed above. However, it's best to err on the side of caution if you do not have a spare at hand.

22 USD for a bottle of No. 9!!! It costs about $2.00 in the U.S. and postage for something of its weight and size is probably around a fiver. I wouldn't say its money down the drain as you can use it as a gun lube and rust preventive. I used to until I switched to Ballistol. Incidentally, if you were to buy it from an Indian gun shop, then you would be paying anything between Rs.500.00 to Rs.800.00 for a bottle.

Since I do not know what the piston head looks like or its dimensions, I am unable to tell you where you could buy a synthetic washer for this rifle. You could probably have one turned out from a bit of Teflon.

No, do not use Hoppe's No. 9 as a leather piston seal lubricant for an airgun. Hoppe's is a powder residue solvent/bore cleaner. Leather should only be lubricated with neatsfoot oil, or a specially formulated synthetic leather lubricant. Also, while a drop of oil behind the pellet can make for a louder bang and more punch, the seal is not made to take the kind of pressure this can generate. So, lube airguns with leather seals sparingly.

If you have trouble importing Neatsfoot oil from the U.K., soak the leather piston washer in silicone oil overnight and press out the excess before installing.

Under no circumstances should anyone use silicone oil on synthetic piston washers.

If you are tempted to use the silicone oil as an anti-rust solution that's fine but don't apply it where metal parts rub against each other as it will scour the surface.

Colleagues,
Excuse me if my question sounds stupid,but as far as I heard Gunmark / G.Smith are the manufacturers of one of the 3 olimpic approved match pellets for the games in china,
Also they are official rep of RWS for india and the region.
So is that Gunmark-350 Diana-350 Magnum,just assembled in Pune?

no george,they are not the same rifles,the gunmark model350 is totally different than the 350 magnum diana.the gunmark350 is made by Gsmith in pune in their own factory and is a indigenised design by gsmith.I can say wrt to quality its better than the other Indian made airrifles.

ya what you are saying is right regarding official representatives of diana is gsmith in India,everbody here knows that.
what i am trying to say is the gunmark model 350 airrifle is different than the diana350 magnum airrifle!!

the diana 350magnum is not assembled in pune,but the gunmark is manufactured by gsmith in pune.

Hi there,

What is the make of the imported barrel on your gun ? The gun (except the barrel) looks very similar to an IHP. The latest price for the model 350 is 11500/-, its available only in .22 and you have to place an order, delivery in 15 days. Pity its not available in .177.

I must say the gun looks cool and different, especially so with the scope on it.
