Dear Sanjiv,
You're right I hav'nt really paid attention to your posts.I just hope this gun has a m.v of 750ps rather than the claims of 900ps,1050ps,etc,etc.I am going to try it with a few cans of coke at about 50yds.Lets see! I"ll find out with Kulkarni about Diana's.This U.S deal of his is very interesting probably a even more modified version fo export...!
Thanks

Hey Sanjiv!

Hows the rifle doing? Did you get a chance to chrono it yet?

Write up a review yaar!!

I purchased some pellets, a spring and a seal from him a week back. The quality is so much better than the local cr@p! I'm hoping the gun'd be the same too.

Put up some experiences mate!!

Mo.

Yup. From Gunmark.

The Prices are as follows:

.22 High Impact: Rs.140 for 200 (I bought 2 tins)
.22 High Speed: Rs.140 for 200 (I bought 2 tins)
.22 High Split: Rs.150 for 200 (I bought 4 tins)
Mod 35 Spring: Rs.160
Mod 35 Seal: Rs.60

The prices are high compared to the locals and low compared to the prices of imported ones. But they seem proportional to the quality. So I'm ok with it.

Leather.. The regular types. I asked him for a synthetic one, but he didnt have one.

Its strange since he claims that the Gunmark 350 uses PFTE... Hmmm...

it does not yet,the new ones may get one.
no chrono around, wud love to do that, most of my earlier experiences i had posted already when the rifle was stock and thats what is important for the buyer of a stock rifle.
its good for the price,i always say that and as u all know u get what u pay for in an airrifle that holds true for this one too.
and hey Mo try the high impact pells, thats the one my rifle likes to be fed,the high split fits a lil tight.
cheers sanjiv

That could be it. But I think the ones made now have it. Cause he sticks to his word..

Do You visit Bangalore? Could you get the Gun down on one of your next visits, if you do? That'll be cool. I believe the Gun'd be great, if you go by the pellet quality..

I like the High Impacts too. But not for the size.. Somehow they High Impacts seem to group better for me.. They're all the same fit in the IHP... Close if not same..

Thanks Sanjiv,

Mo.

latest changes on my Gunmark model 350-
1.did honing of the chamber using a wooden stick of lesser dia with chamoise leather tied on one end ,dipped in brasso polish and honed for an hour to get a fine mirror finish, done my myself
2.changed the leather washer to a teflon washer,it was difficult and took some time before getting a good fit,the velocity has reduced but consistent at a distance of 40 mts, earlier the pellet used to land at diff places in each shot and choosing the cross on the target was difficult, now it is much better and smooth to shoot, with very negligible dieseling.Done by myself
3.did try my hand on polishing the stock, and came out real nice this time, almost 6 coats of b.casey gunstock oil after a fine scrub with 120,320 and 600 sand papers.Added a spacer to the stock to fit on me well.Done by myself, with inspiration drawn from Rusty's work
4.Finally did sand stippling, outlined the place with a swiss knife, removed wood chips of about less a mm,made it rough again with a knife and applied a coat of sticky varnish and dropped sand(collected from palolim beach  ) with the help of a fine net evenly, let it stick over the varnish, finally locked it with another thin coat of varnish.Done by myself.
5.got it scoped with a diana 4*32 magnum scope, with a diana one piece scope mount, and diana scope rail.the diana scope rail was fitted very precisely by Gunmark armoury.
6.No changes yet on the trigger, working on it.
thanx to this forum for all the inspiration.
here's 2 pics of the finished rifle-

Good work, Sanjiv but next time don't mirror finish the inside of the cylinder as the fine machining marks actually act as a lube reservoir.

thanx Rusty, always look forward to hear from you,now thats a good piece of information i never gave a thought on about the fine machined marks in the chamber retaining lubes.
as you can see i really need a scope mount stopper, although had taken more than 3 tins of pells before sliding back around a cm.

Gentlemen Sarpi this side! Leather washers according to Kulkarni is appropriate because the spring fitted on the G.350 is too strong for a synthetic washer. This is what he says....!
Also Hoppes oil is appropriate for leather washers.I have ordered a bottle & the cost postage is more expensive than the product.Anyway keeping my fingers crossed it arrives in one piece!!!

Sarpi,

The next time you speak to the self appointed experts in Poona, ask them why spring-piston air-rifles that are far more powerful than the Gunmark 350 do not use leather washers.

I am not sure but I am still willing to bet that Hoppes No.9 lubricating oil is going to cause a lot of dieseling. I'd be really interested in your findings.
