Yes, but it is merely a cosmetic screw on cap. It also has the screw on the back of the trigger unit to adjust the trigger pull as mentioned by you earlier. It was bought in '76 on this very day for the very grand sum of Rs.350.00

Ah in that case it must be an American one - Had a fine finishing and the stuff was very good.

Ah what a memory - a birthday for an airgun :-) Any reason why you remember this day (apart from the reason above)

I doubt there is a single American part in it. Where did you hear about this?

Sure do. I got this bee in my bonnet when I was nine years old and every time my old man took me to a toy shop I would ask for one but he remained unmoved and as a mark of protest I would refuse to buy a toy.

This went on for close to a couple of years. Since 24th Jan is my brother's birthday, we were taken to the toy shop. My brother selected a cheapie Jumbo Jet and next thing I know, my father asks me to select an air-rifle. To say I was bursting with joy would be an understatement. One of those very special moments one tends to remember. ;)

Dear Yash
Tommy airguns
I am unable to find any info about the manufacturer or seller on the net. It used to sell through sports goods shops way back then. Maybe I will check with some on coming weekend.
I have seen 3 pieces in this Modern business house, shop in nagpur yesterday

The one in .22 cal was pricerd Rs. 2,150 /-, it was medium powered one.

He also had a model in catlagoue with a scope fitted
the sticker mentioned it was made in Kolkata

Hi Zafar,

I am on the lookout for an Airgun. Would you be able to get me more info and pics of the Tommy in the shop ?

Perhaps take pictures with a camera mobile ?

Thanks

Manish
Anytime buddy; i will be in nagpur again in 3-4 days ( i live 170 km down south of nagpur) but regarding the Tommy i got the inpression that Yash and Mack The Knife were talking about it for nostalgia value it was not so great in first look and build quality though i have not shot it.

BTW if you currently dont have an airgun you could have it as it is avaliable for a decent sum of rs 2,150/-

would try to get the pics

Zafar,

You indeed brought back some memories. That's the shop where I saw the tommy for the first time. No amount of tantrums could coax my parents into buying one for me back then. We have a shop next to this toy shop in Sitabuldi and i often used to stop in my tracks to admire the pieces in the showcase. Will check again next time when I am in Nagpur. Havent been there in a while.

Also, where do you live exactly?

The power of Tommy ARs used to be quite good back then. And the tirgger was much more smoother than a National AR i bought recently.

Is it possible for someone staying there locally to check if they can procure a trigger assembly alone and see if it can be adapted to the IHP. This will be nice if it can be done

memories are what we live for

I am not based in nagpur but live 170 km down south of it in ballarshah an industrial town. but nagpur is my nanihal and i have relatives in sadar, mominpura, bajariya etc . the city has changed beyond recognization in last 5 years. good to have a nagpurian in IFG. BTW the shop i mentioned is not having any new stock , i think they are closing their gun business; as also shooting has become a dying hobby in this part of world.

Diana or Tommy trigger on the IHP 35

Post by fantumfan2003 » Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:49 pm

Hi Sniper,

Can we work together to see if we can fit a Diana 35 or Tommy trigger to the IHP 35 ? I do believe you have both the Diana 35 and the IHP 35 ?

I will try and visit Magnum Arms in Grant Road tomorrow and see if he has a spare Diana trigger for sale

Since you have both. Whats your opinion on fitting the Diana 35 Trigger on the IHP ? You think its doable ?

I can request Dr. Shirsat for help

One way to communicate is to take pics and I can show it to the Dr. Shirsat.
