Machetes!!
Ppl,
wanna know if machetes require a license? Got an old 1 on the farm thats rusted and pitted but still shows the name and date of manufacture. Its Collins and Co, made in USA and the year of manufacture is 1944.
There is also another 1 thats broken in half ..... make Sheffield England the year of manufacture is 1915. this 1 has brass blosters. Will post pics soon.
The smallest is by Cattaragus and has a folding handle.
Does any 1 here collect machetes or am I the only fool ?
Monish

Re: Machetes!!
So long as it stays on the farm and is used as any other farm implement, I don't see why it needs a licence.
On the other hand if you were to stick it in your cummerbund and pretended to be Captain Jack Sparrow.....
Welcome to the board.

Re: Machetes!!
I have a few here but I tend to use them as a tool similar to an axe. They work nicely on moderate size grass, however if there is a lot of clearing I'll fire up a chainsaw and use that.
Chainsaws! Now those are great cutting tools!
Collins is a good brand BTW, and being marked 44 it is a US WW2 issue model. Lot of history there!

Korea wasn't a war, it was a "police action"
