Re: good news please elaborate
yes NRAI only imports the match grade weapons and not these sporting weapons.panks";p="944 wrote:can you throw some more light on the NRAI details and which airguns do they import. I think they only import the match rifles and not the other brands like HW, Diana, BSA etc. It's better if you let us know after talking with NRAI
Cheers
For the weapons you are interested in you should contact Gunmark Armoury in pune.

The "case" requirement is an AIRLINE security requirement and NOT a customs requirement. As such, PLEASE check with your airline well in advance what their exact requirements are in terms of how to best pack the airgun for checking it in with minimum hassle.striker";p="35402 wrote:hai Friends

Disassembling and packing can help fit it in a suitcase, that is if the airline will allow you to carry it in a suitcase disassembled. Not all of them will, so like I said earlier please check with your airline well in advance of your date of departure... better still check before making the booking so that you can choose an airline which gives you a minimum of hassle! By disassembling, most people simply mean removing the action from the stock, which is usually simply a matter or removing 3-4 screws.
As to customs, the disassembled airgun can make it easier for you to demonstrate to them that it is INDEED an airgun and NOT a firearm, BUT this is highly dependant on the customs officer on duty so is entirely on your individual luck...
Cheers!

Re: Airgun import experiences - via personal baggage route
I am going to be in the Denver area for a week and I am planning to bring back an HW77 with me. The thing is i am not yet a part of any club and from the experiences that people have had, the customs might (if they feel like it), ask for a rifle club membership.
Do advise if I should still go ahead and try and get one or wait till next time.

Thanks Mack The Knife, I think I will try my luck! I see on pyramidair that the HW77 has been discontinued, lets see if I can get one from a shop.
Also, few members have recommended to carry a print of the relevant pages from the TSA website and the Customs ruling on airguns. Can anyone point me to the said pages.

The last one just got sold to TenX from IFG.Thanks Mack The Knife, I think I will try my luck! I see on pyramidair that the HW77 has been discontinued.
If you cannot find a 77K, consider a 80k or 95k if you want open sights. If you can budget for a scope then consider the HW97K, Air Arms TX200HC or TX200 Mk. III.
