Re: Where can One get a Tempo Gurkha

Post by OverUnderPump » Fri Dec 07, 2007 6:57 pm

:( :( :( Quite typical of Indian 'LALA' type companies, what could have been a great seller in a niche market, loses out due to unprofessionalism and lack of marketing strategy.

Hi James,

Is it a 4x4 version? If yes, then I'd interested. Sending you a PM.

Thanks

I went with Django to Auto fair this time and we met Sr. R&D engineer of Force. He have confirmed us that the vehicle with OM611 and G32 Tranny wud be out in October. The hydraulic diffs. have been replaced by cable operated ones.

The reason in delay was they wanted to keep machine again low priced ... so developing few things for it. It will cost just 50-60 K etc. than the present Gurkha.

Even if you want to buy the present Gurkha you have a waiting period of 3 months as they produce only 25 of them every month. I have got the details of this gurkha which is known as Black Beauty:

Here are they : http://www.monsterup.com/image.php?url= ... 972718.jpg

Also here is the picture of current model of Gurkha... http://www.monsterup.com/image.php?url= ... 973146.jpg

Thanks for the update.

I don't think having the turn indicator lights on top of the bonnet is going to do the driver any favours.

Sometime back I went in to the Jhandewalan dealership for a peek. I told em' I wanted a test drive and they looked at me as if I was from Mars , they didnt even have a demo vehicle.

I mean c'mon guys, I'm looking to buy this thing. Doesn't that mean anything to you, MONEY...Greenbacks doesnt that mean anything to you.

Needless to say I wasn't really enthused at the level of customer service / product awareness of the individuals at that showroom. So I scrapped the idea altogether.

And to add to all this availability is 3-4 months post booking.

regards

I considering selling my Brand New Tempo Trax Gurkha 4x4 Hard Top with A/C and Power Steering.

This is a brand new Gurkha 4x4 waiting in the factory with zero milage. I ordered this four months back. I have decided to get a Pajero 2.8 SFX and hence put my Gurkha up for Sale.

You can pay the amount directly to the nearest Force Motors dealer and have the vehicle send there. I will then collect a refund from Force Motors for what I paid them. You will pick it up brand new from the show room. The benefit is that you get your vehicle in about 10 days of payment.

Contact me at 097410 20945

For more details of a similar vehicle. You can read this thread:

When is the delivery of this vehicle!

Maybe you should reconsider :)

Mitsubushi Pajero

There are a large number of Pajeros in Pakistan, mostly on the road, which is where they belong.

Offroading Capability: 2 out of 10
Some people seem to be under the misconception that the Pajero is a capable 4×4 vehicle. They should be aware that the only relation a Pajero has with the one running the Paris-Dakkar rally is the name. The 1970's Toyota Starlet has more offroad capability. And yes, the author has bested a Pajero with the Starlet.

Deewan motors has started importing the new Pajero, which according to Mitsubushi is based on the "lessons learned" from the multi-million dollar machine which consistently wins the Paris-Dakkar rally, and others. So it probably deserves a higher rating, but the overall club impression of this car is so bad that 2 it remains.

Regarding OM611. I contacted Force Motors and told them that I can hold my booking if they are planning to to put the OM611 in the Gurkha.

According to them, they don't have any plans since they have to design a 4x4 transfer case for the new gearbox that comes with the OM611 and send the vehicle back for ARAI approval etc. Apparently the volumes don't justify the sales according to them. But if you are not in a hurry, you can always wait and see if the tortoise moves ;-).

The vehicle is already build and waiting in the factory for shipment. Soon as the amount is paid it will be shipped to the dealer. So I expect about in about 10 days from payment.
