To my mind, for plinking nothing is better than .22 therefore Model 35 of IHP fits the bill... adequate power, reasonable accuracy and cheap too...

Rohit,

If you buy the .177" cal. version you will be able to shoot it with imported match pellets at your local range. With .22" you are left with no option but Indian made pellets because most imported .22 pellets I have tried are an EXTREMELY tight fit in IHP air-rifles.

my .22 35 model ihp is fitted with bsa scope on scope rail welded to it.it took me 3k for labour only excluding scope and mount(too costly but i did).the accuracy is 1/2" at 10m .but after 30 shots bos of creep accuracy reduced again i have to tune and use .the look of ihp is changed when fitted with scope and i love it .

Well done striker. Now just take the metal foresight off. Even the rear sight comes off with a bit of work. Then it looks even better. You can loctite the scope in place or use Araldite between the scope mount and the rail. And no more scope creep.

Regards,

Dev

P.S. Keep us posted about how the scope holds. I suspect being light powered(the rifle) it should last quite a while.

I guess remove the foresight protector, its image will appear in the scope.

And even for this Medium power AIr Rifle some form of scope ring arrest to avoid scope creep is required. Even in the rings a scope may creep after a few hunderd shots.

I do have an IHP 35 where I got a small metal strip riveted onto it for fixing a scope, the cost for it in 1996 was Rs. 400.

Could some one shed some light on the muzzle velocity of the IHP 0.22 Air Rifle with the original main spring.

Has anyone tried a G Smith Spring and washer in a IHP 0.22.Would like to exchange views about the same.

I have used a G Smith Spring and Washer in my IHP.The air rifle blasts holes through both sides of a 20 liter waterproofing metal tin at 10 mtrs-pretty tough stuff and goes into three fourth inch of ply fully but does not exit. Goes through half an inch ply.I have found the G Smith Spring more powerful and smoother than the TASCO.Any guess's about the MV.

I hope you don't mean taking your scope apart? That will really damage it, do you mean mounting and dismounting the scope?

Good going one home made chrony a yank uses is lining up sixteen aluminium cans in a row. If the pellet passes thru all of them then the rifle is doing about 800 feet per second. Try it out and see.
