Hi,

Changing the looks of .22 IOF shud not cost u a packet. The stock is reused... its just made a little lighter the...... the remoddled size is the same as a brono 22 bore stock. Its reblued ... stock is then repolished .... NO other changes are made ....the job like that wud be less that 3-4 grand Just for ur information a 22 IOF rifle is less than 30000if u want the exact price can be checked.

he did a pretty neat job of a friends .22

In Punjab it is available for 28-30K, though sometime back I did hear that it was in shortage, but not now. I dont think that the production has stopped. Are you planning to sell your .22 and make a lil profit for yourself ?

noway .it is for my friend. now i am working on project .to fit led bulb as front and rear sight. 90% work over.thankyou

a gun repairer in mysore told me that the butt of the 0,22 LR IOF when trimed+chekered and the metal parts blued looks like a BRUNO.....never seen the finished version though.

I have seen it. It does look like a BRNO. Now its a huge grey zone here and hear me out, I have spoken to army experts and they say NEVER to modify the IOF .22 because of the balance ( according to me its too heavy for the calibre to balance nicely). I have indeed shot my .22 IOF , handpicked from a litter of 5 ( available that time), and it shoots beautifully accurate. I have had trained shooters of police shoot with it and it does shoot excellent groups. Few weeks back we took a lovely Marlin .22 and the MULE IOF .22 to the range just to compare. SAME RESULTS except the MULE was much quieter ( possibly the barrel length).

The difference Vinayaka my friend is all about SUNDER OR SUSHEEL

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IOF is a bit crude .

Considering the price difference I would recommend a IOF .22 whole heartedly.

PS . BTW I have a friend with a BRNO semi .22. Nothing to write home about as long as tight situations dont arise !!

Vinayaka,

The IOF .22 is based on the Brno Mod. 2 / CZ452 with the following differences:

1) The IOF has a semi-bull barrel. The Czech rifles have a tapered barrel.
2) The twist rate. 1-in-8" in the IOF versus 1-in-12" or 14" in the Czech rifles.
3) The stock.
4) The front sight. The IOF front sights is a screw in post that is adjustable for elevation. The rear sights are quite similar.
5) Some differences in tolerances. For example, a CZ452 magazine will not fit in an IOF .22

Some questions again..

Can IOF's action be just dropped in Brno's stock or there are big differences in inletting

. If yes, what do you think would it make big difference in rifle's balance?

I just love the stipling on your rifles...I am wondereing how my D52 will look after some stipling from you

Apart from the characterstics mentioned at a number of places , i think the IOF .22 is capable of firing hyper vel ammo like CCI Stingers which i dare not with my Mod 1 Brno.i
think that limitation will remain as a comparision.andy

Thanks for pointing out the differnces b/w the IOF and BRNO 0.22.Nice pictures and your IOF looks beautiful.
My permission to bye lapses on 31st december and since i am unable in finding a reasonably priced decent phihringi handgun i was planing on doing away with my licence.......but now your pictures are tempting me to go in for a 0.22IOF......something for me to dream abt for a couple of days
