Hi andy i wish the restrictions on import were relaxed at least for airrifles but unfortunately its not so.The ruling is relaxed for import of .177 airifles but it really difficult to get police & custom clearance.I have never used a chinese airrifle so i cannot comment on them but they are really popular in an open market such as the us so they must be great. There used to be a lovely airrifle by ceska model 630 .177 if i am not mistaken but i donot think its being manufactured anyone,do u have any idea of its website or where i can find info about it.
Regarding Indian airrifles our neighbour Bangladesh is very much interested in locally manufactured and ihp airrifle, they have to pay a duty of around 160% if they import from us but still they are very keen to import them.So Imagine if the govt becomes more open minded what might up come up next

Hi Joy are there any indian airguns which you are selling with grooves cut for mounting a scope ( a standard feature in even below standard airguns everywhere in the world less INDIA). do you also do modifications in air rifles before despatch like such a mod in an IHP rifle.also any india airgun manufacturer with a more powerful airrifle product.andy

"Better" - can be done, but will invariably cost you more than the original air-rifle itself... if one really gets down to it, then except for the original barrel - everything else will require replacement with "better" parts... which is probably why no one is doing it... yet!
Cheers!

I agree there will be additional cost, but will be much less than if imported products......and time, hassel, legalities of imports is avoidable.
Anyone ever taken out the costing of modifications and results.....

i agree with mundaire. a local arms mechanic asked me Rs 2800/- for creating grooves on my IHP .22 .i wish IHP would have been wise to add this stupid NOW standard feature in their PIDDLY air rifles.andy

Well, that's not exactly what I meant... a decent scope rail can be fabricated for a fraction of that amount... what I meant was fabricating an entire trigger unit, to replace the direct sear type of trigger used in all IHP spring piston guns... maybe even replacing the entire rear mechanicals (piston, spring, washer and cylinder etc.) with new ones fabricated to optimum sizes (for more power), and finally replacing the stock!
All this would end up costing you several times what you would have paid for the original gun... but if done right should produce a bloody good firangi airgun basher! If done wrong... all the money down the drain...
Cheers!

hi abhijeet in a lot of your earlier posts i read about the trigger modification that cud probably be done, something similar to diana ball type, even dev had once mentioned about it,...do you have any design ideas you may wish to share regarding the trigger upgrade ,i can put in some effort and most important 'time' along with likeminded guys who wish the same, once and for all add a stage to the stubborn direct shear break design adopted by our manufacturers, ofcourse if it was achievable in the first place why not give a try.
these days i am trying on my own to tune my gunmark .22 to shoot sweet n smooth, had polished the parts and honed the chamber, along with ptfe washer,...trials goin on still, wud love to add a nice crisp trigger.
regards sanjiv
