'Gehmann Pump' - gone bad.... how & where to repair?

Post by sat » Wed Sep 20, 2006 10:49 pm

Not sure if this should be in the gunsmithing or 'air gun' section...

My Gehmann pump (1st model, black colour) which one uses to fill compressed air cylinders of PCP Air gun & air pistols has gone bad. It appears one or more of the several O rings inside has failed.

Any suggestion who can repair it, where I could get the spare O rings from?

I now have to find a source for a scuba compressed air cylinder. I gather a 2' cylinder is avlble for about 3,500 in Mumbai.

Did you call doc?

For spares contact B.A.R.

Last time I got a cylinder from Bombay it was Rs.1,800.00 delivered. Are we talking about the same source and condition of cylinders?

Sat,

Are you going to try and fix the pump yourself?

Here is the US, there are a few companies that carry repair bearings for equipment, (the 2 largest are called "berry bearings" and "bearing headquarters") They also carry a very large assortment of O-rings of all sorts of sizes.

There must be similar bearing-replacement companies in India, call one of them up and ask if they carry O-rings too. Then bring your parts with the rings on and they can look up replacements.

If that does not work, and nothing else does either, you can email me the size rings you need and I can get them here for you.

Sat,
hello.
Hv u got yr gehmann pump in working condition or not as yet?
And what about the scuba cylinder. Hv you been able to get one.
If yes, what size, cost and source. I too have been looking for one but not able to get the right one as it should be suitable for 200 bar/pressure, in good condition and if tested/stamped/approved all the more better.

Which pistol/rifle are you using?

All the very best,
