Re: New pistols quality
Wait for couple of months.
Prices of all handguns will drop below 1 Lakh.
At the moment dealers have a cut of 50k on anyhandgun they sell or promote due to higher comissions.
Both manufacturers and dealers making hay while the sun shines.
Bargain hard.Shoot straight.

Someone in the government must be very happy to keep their eyes closed. How else can one justify these companies selling a handgun for 8000$ in India while they sell them for 800$ in USA.Machoman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 8:34 amWait for couple of months.

Other point to be consider is that with negligible new arms licenses being issued in country, how will these companies survive.

Though I agree with your point of view but that's a business call they should have taken before starting a business.
Nothing in the world can justify selling weapons 1000% higher than what they sell in their parent country.
My thoughts.

Re: New pistols quality
Vineet is right to point out that there is a risk in opening a business or new line of business. Of course, a business case ought to be conducted to see whether a market is ready for one's prospective product. Business history is littered with so many cases of business cases that didn't consider all of the factors involved and people not correctly analyzing the results.
Added to this, product launches that get off on the wrong foot, such as not being ready for introduction, and also perceptions of the buying public having wrong assumptions and unfairly judging a product enter into this, as well. The most common whining done with regard to a product is done by gun people. How many times has a gun been withdrawn from production, and afterwards gun people say, "oh, I wish so and so would not have quit making this," or "I wish that so and so would bring that back to production"? Many times! So many, I get sick or hearing it, because these whiners never reached for their wallet while the gun was available. They say now that they want one, but their wallet speaks louder than their whining!
However, yes, pgupta, you are right: the pricing is 'way out of reason. I recall that, after the first Iraq war, but before the second, when there were strict arms sanctions on Saddam's regime, he was buying AKs from Russia for $450 a pop, and it was costing the Russians $50 a piece to make them. Makes you wonder about the prices paid for AKs and their derivatives, doesn't it?
This is only one more example to your point.
However, given the shape of the world as it is, no matter who is benefitting from what, it still seems to me that having many entries into the market, even if some or many ultimately fail, is better than the way things were a few years back, when choices were more limited.
Despite the shenanigans, it would be best for those who can afford it to pick up what they deem best for their needs when it is still available, although of course the issue of service for "orphaned" guns is always a risk.
There really is no secret formula for ensuring a perfect experience, but MilanJoshi's suggestion in this thread seems to me to be a step in the right direction. Hopefully, all with real world experience (which are always more useful than opinions without experience) with these guns will share them here for the benefit of all.
