Yes, defininitely a Colt 1911......but not a Russian contract pistol. It`s not just an ordinary 1911 though as that would hardly be very interesting.

Yes, exactly that.
For those of you who hadn`t noticed, the `RAF` stamp can be seen quite clearly.
This particular pistol is in super condition and currently for sale at around £2,500 ( $5,000. ) ......... and that`s not an inflated Indian price !

You utter, utter rotter CC ( ) - I hadn`t noticed that you`d said that the pistol was chambered for the .455 Eley........it was actually chambered for the .455 Webley. What`s the difference ? Well if you can answer that in one short sentence you`re a better man then I Gunga Din !
I doubt that the Indian authorities know which actual .455 round they`ve classified as PB.

So far I have seen exactly one .455 Enfield revolver (had me stumped,especially the loading and unloading.) ,one 1911 in .455 Webley, a couple of WG .476 revolvers and one Webley Fosbery(.455).Incidentally,.455 auto would be a NPB.Best of luck trying to prove this though.

The dried one is probably India's answer to Beef Jerky / Biltong. Well...somewhat.

eeesh! may have mis-worded it man!

Actually it is .455 Webley semi rimmed, if I remember, developed by George Kynoch (Eley)... I didn't want to get it mixed with those old ugly .455 rimmed Webley revolver ammo. Anyway most British .455 1911s had their magazined marked .455 Eley...so there's the culprit and that's about as far as I know...leave the rest to you.
