You are not alone, mine is pending under heirloom category since March 21. Apparently it's waiting for the relevant authorities to give me time for a interview.

Send reminders by registered post .By doing so you are asserting that you are on the right timeline and your licensing authority is not doing his duty as per law. By sending reminders, at a later stage if your licensing authority dismisses your application for no genuine reason, you can win your case on appeal. Moreover have guts to challenge the inordinate delay. Any application has to be decided within 90 days or else it is deemed granted by law. it is high time we challenge all these inactions. JAI HIND

Yes Agree. I read in ARMS act that the entire process should take a maximum of 60+ 90 days ( 60 days for Police verification and 90 days for licensing office to process. I went to office personally to enquire, there is an office sitting at the PRO counter somewhat in his 50's.. he responded very rudely to me saying - abhi wait karo. time lagega. he said due to corona there is too much backlog. even renewals are pending. i don't know what they are doing.veeveeaar wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 9:58 pmSend reminders by registered post .By doing so you are asserting that you are on the right timeline and your licensing authority is not doing his duty as per law. The authorities are always looking out for reasons NOT to issue arms licensed...it took me approx an year to get mine ...the one only way to make them hear you plea is just standing on their head demanding explanations every now and then ..thts what worked out for me...uncountable visits to the CP office....if you applied under heirloom they can not reject your application unless you do not have complete documentation...

simply give three reminders by registered post each 15 days apart. than go to Delhi High Court in cwjc. arms rules 2016 is best guide.

I'm from the south and it took me 6 years to get my pistol licence.. my file got 'lost' multiple times and the no of offices involved in my case was crazy.. DC office , SP office, circle office, local police station, forest department, village accountant, revenue inspector, tahsildar, tahsildar at DC office, Asst DC...

How did they manage to "find" the file every time they lost it? I am in kind of a similar situation.vasanthm wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 8:15 amI'm from the south and it took me 6 years to get my pistol licence.. my file got 'lost' multiple times and the no of offices involved in my case was crazy.. The circle inspector office just couldn't locate the file, I had to get the case worker at the DC office to re initiate the process to the police dept from scratch.. the SP office also at some point couldn't locate it but were kind enough to rebuild it based on the few letter copies I had.. Case workers are your 'friends' and for some officials I had to get someone well known or higher up to put in some good words..WhoCantBeNamed wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:49 amHow did they manage to "find" the file every time they lost it? My first attempt 8 years back I was feeling very righteous after returning from the UK and I tried using RTI etc and it backfired spectacularly.. they have 1000's of reasons to reject at various levels if they feel you are being too 'smart'.. a more 'Indian' approach works better I guess

Thanks. I am in the 5th year of my application, and the file just passed City Magistrate office 15 days back. Waiting for the next stop, which is SP City office, as I was told.vasanthm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 5:12 pmMy first attempt 8 years back I was feeling very righteous after returning from the UK and I tried using RTI etc and it backfired spectacularly.. they have 1000's of reasons to reject at various levels if they feel you are being too 'smart'.. a more 'Indian' approach works better I guess

If the files comes back all positive, still the DM office has the ultimate say and most of the time they reject..so you need some good follow up thereWhoCantBeNamed wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 5:18 pmThanks.
