Beggars can't be choosers! I fall in this category. Unless gun laws change here, I am stuck with IOF .3006 and .32 pistol for all my life, maybe my future generations too.

IMHO rifles won't make much sense here in India. Since only bolt actions are allowed and available, you're left with long barrelled slow cycling platforms that are meant for hunting (which isn't legal) or sports shooting. Given their length and rate of fire, these rifles are inadequate for self or home defence. A shotgun will be far more useful as a long gun. This might also be why most new manufacturers are focussing only on pistols and shotguns.

H&H .375 magnum would be my personal choice . Gold standard cartridge for every game including the elephant with the right cartridge and experience. Flat shooting cartridge and never have the problem of too little gun. If only our government realises that legally armed citizens are a country’s best defence against threats , both internal and external. Hope they learn from Ukraine .
Any options to buy 375

actually when it comes down to it, I will take anything I can put my hands on, yours or some ones elses would become a fair game. when that times comes the law would not be around so no worries. would look for 105 as well, for those boring days.

For me its a tough choice but it would be between a 30 -06 and a .22lr , most likely i would keep the 30 because of the versitality it gives , and i would rather buy a really powerful airgun in place of a 22lr

Out of the three civilian Rifles manufactured in India I would go with the .22lr. I can keep 500 rounds of .22lr in my backpack and low maintenance.
