You can not buy, only the licencee (your father) can buy.
If 25 cartridges are allowed then it will be illegal to keep the 26th ammo.

@ Arun028, I feel sorry to interfere here but pls check ur words before jotting it. Some times information or advices may not be good to hear and also it may not gives a feel good to the concerned person but that doesn't change the fact. Here the fact is a legal restriction and I can say Vineet bhai can know better than many of us b.coz he is a gun dealer himself and he started his business from his own interests.
I am with this forum for more than 8 yrs and a member for 6 yrs or so. I saw Vineet bhai with his initial posts about his interests and how he started his own business. Legal restrictions may vary as per state a little in India but at gross it will remain same. Pls check with your license authorities for better clearance, but one thing for sure without the presence of license holder himself with physical license and all required doc. (If any) no transaction of Arms and Ammo is possible in India.
Regards

Shivaji

Arun028 read the ‘Ammunition Allowed’ column in the below pic from an arms license and apply your common sense.

The ‘Maximum you can purchase in a year’ is also ‘The maximum you can posses at any one time’

Regarding my ‘incomplete knowledge’, I am on this forum and helping out people since you were seven years old only.

Im sure most people keep more than 25 cartridges and no police will check unless someone is caught during routine check.

Maybe slight correction required here just to clear a misconception. The maximum amount of cartridges you can purchase in a year can be higher than the maximum amount you should possess at any given time. My licence has 100 cartridges purchase per year but I can hold only fifty at a time. So I purchase 50 cartridges, fire them and then again go and purchase 50 cartridges during a calendar year. Figures are for explanation only.

We should not discuss or suggest anything that is illegal.
