Hello seniors,

Do modern guns have effective ejectors , i heard that under barrel of the gun does not ejects the fired cartridges and particularly the long brass necked ones... is it true...

Will any of you guys let me know the contact details of any modern dealer in Bathinda , ludhiana or Jalandhar... since all the towns are 100 kms from my city.

Any information will be extremly important to me.

Thanking you

Rohit,

Modern O/U have extractors and not ejectors.
There are many good gun shops in Mukatsar. You will definately find a modern dealer there.

Dear friends,

Now your friend is in the league and proud owner of modern o/u . I bought it on ist of this jan and the first day of this year brought a dream of owning a gun was a reality .I was impressed by khairudin o/u`s but it has no ribs on norml guns and spl guns are costly . modern has a ribs and looks like Beretta and other contemporary imported stuff. Since i bought gun more for passion and less for hooting so price and looks matter most to me than actual performance.

I bought it for from nanda gun house , jalandhar. and inspected many dealers and their stock and found out the piece of mine good enough . the dealer was a co-operative fella and removed my doubts by firing two shots from the very gun.

I will post it pictures soon. i am making side holster for carrying a gun during movement and idle times when not shooting.

As soon i find an experienced guy who can evaluate the gun i will also post the field results...

Thanks to all the plas who have given their support and shared their experience to provide me guidance .

Hi Rohit

This Modern make shot gun has extractors, sometimes i think its a manufacturing defect that once fired ,the empty shell becomes hard to extract or you need to use some force with your hand to pull it off.Any decent gunsmith can fix that problem.

cheers
james

I got my license couple of days back I went to a dealer and saw a modern o/u single trigger. The quote given is 54k. I want to know the performance of the gun is it worth it. Has the misfiring issue resolved.

I can't comment about the quality of Mordern over and under gun but I have heard that over and under shotgun design has less felt recoil than side by side double barrel gun.

Heavier the gun, less is the recoil. Modern guns are quite heavy, in fact all Indian made guns are heavy.

Failing any first hand feedback, I would suggest, you ask the dealer to get the gun to the shooting range. There, fire at least 2 boxes (50 shells) through the gun, at both pattern board as well as moving targets (clay birds).

The cost of the range trip would be well justified, when weighed against acquiring a gun which you will likely be keeping for a few years.

What’s your purpose to buy o/u ?
Self defence or sports ?

Modern o/u doesn’t fit anywhere. For self defence I would suggest you pump action gun and for sports, go for imported o/u.

If you have decided for ‘modern o/u’ only then go for double trigger. The mechanism is simple (in double trigger) therefore less chances to fail.
