Glock actually does offer models with manual safeties though. Glock 19s and 17s issued to Thailand police for instance have thumb safeties right out of the factory. Likewise, those issued to Taiwanese police have a crossbolt styled manual safety.

In fact, the Glock 19/23 MHS whuch competed in the US Army's Modular Handgun System trial had manual safetys too.

That information is incorrect. A lot of civilians in Mumbai and Pune and across Maharashtra for that matter are legal owners of the said caliber

Glock-CMT are ready to manufacture pretty much right now. I have heard that IOF/OFB are lobbying to purposely delay them by requesting the Govt./MHA to issue the domestic manufacturing license as late as possible because OFB will be screwed once Glock starts selling to the Indian population and breaks their monopoly. Hence, to be on the safe side I said 2022-2023. Webley India had a better legal team I guess because they already started production of the MKIV revolver frames.

I spoke to Glock 2-3 times . They said they might launch in next month lets see what happens.

That should give you an inkling about how they function and how things move in this field in India. Hope but do not place your bets on it soon.

Just spoke to them 2 days ago , they said something good is about to come in 15 days . But they said this last time also the gun will surely come but they have still not go the licnese from the central government which might take more time .

So considering other things also we have to wait for 6 months or more .

Visited few local arms dealers in Bangalore for a weapon. They are very supremely confident nothing is happening atleast for a year regarding new private players. I am keeping my fingers crossed, will wait for couple of months.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of a license are they waiting for? It can't be a manufacturing license if they pistols are all ready to roll out. I tried contacting them several times last week on your provided number, but got no reponse. I am interested in knowing if the pistols are fully made in India or are actually made in Austria and are simply being assembled here...
