Excellent choice of a rifle , Navi.

What ammo are you using? 22 or24” bbl. ? should do fine with 120 and 143gr ELDX

Navi you’re not the first to confuse Rustam and me ;)
You’re in the land of plenty, and ammo shouldn’t be a Problem even in NY. Is reloading still a no no?
A box each of Factory 120grn and ELDx ( 143 gn I think) should see you good to go. What scope do you have on it ?

https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/pr ... ctId/77138 These have the Sierra Match kings -SMK - fantastic accuracy when I’ve reloaded them. You’re lucky to get factory ammo.
The S& B are good for plinking and reasonably accurate.

Now this should be a good start point to start reloading. With a Sako Bavarian which is known for very good accuracy, feed it your best effort to get the what it’s capable of.

Thanks Vickers and Asif ( my bad ) and others knife man should excuse me ; yes now its ammo reasonable glass ( I saw $900 is steiner being adjusted on $800is Tikka ) so in some circles here Glass is greater than rifle ; backwards for me; one has to safe money for Binoc and scope ...

cheers

Asif
Loading ammo is a problem in NYC and my small apartment upstate nope not an issue ; in NYC i cant store more than 200 bullets without special permission..I will look for those bullets. My choice was between 7mm-08 ( your favourite 7x57 cousin) and 6.5 CR ; CR has more ammo availability

You won’t regret good glass, Navi. A Steiner on that rifle will be a lifetime investment. Far better than a Trashco! Look at Vortex also. Good to know reloading status. Hodgdon have a new powder for 6.5 called staball 6.5

Asif yes Vortex has gained lot of popularity with their warranty, good make and decent prices ; it along with Leupold Meopta ( they made Zeiss lens/scopes) short listed 3-9 x 40 ; I need to save money for a good binoc too ..I am already in hole ;> Cameralandnyc has good open box deals sometimes and so does B and H. BTW hope no forest fires near Melbourne good luck
