Go for RFI mk II because their quality is better than GSF mk II. Current price for RFI mk II is around one lac.
Saw the RFI mk2 at a gun shop in Patna today , it's the same pistol which was earlier being called modified mk1 ,it's pretty good actually & is retailing for 1.20 L here , comes with a case & a spare mag, the magazine ejection is not very smooth though ,am not sure if the slide will come back in open position after the last round , even the shop owner didn't know much about it as he has just received the first batch a few days ago .

Now the new stamping on the receiver says mk2 RFI . The other mk2 ( with a broader butt ) is made only at gsf hence there seems to be a good deal of confusion with the nomenclature ,i.e. now you have two different mk2's in the market . Tried opening the front ring which keeps the barrel locked but couldn't hence didn't seem it would come off easily ,any more information from Vineet & others would be welcome as plan to pick it ( for a friend ) next week.

That's easy enough to check :) just rack the slide with an empty magazine in position! If it has that feature, the slide will firmly lock in the open position, till the time the empty magazine is removed and then the slide lock lever can be depressed to allow it to move back again.

Sir you kidding? shoot this pistol to 30 m?
Makarov 9 mm maximum effective range 25 m! but caliber of makarov have more power then caliber iof ashani!
Effective range and ability to shoot at targets are two very different things. I've personally seen a friend (he's also a member here) put shots from an Ashani pistol within the black ring (maybe about 20 cm across) of a paper target at 50m.

Will it group well at that range? Of course not, if for no other reason, than the simple fact that the sights are non-existent and the shooter can only place his shots with a substantial hold over and some rough estimation.

Will it be "effective" at those type of ranges? Again, negative! Punching paper and effectively bringing down a live target are two very different things. Of course, that isn't the intended use of a .32 handgun anyway. This is meant as a conceal carry self defence firearm, in which situations there is little chance of having to engage at anything beyond 7 to 10 meters (approx 22 to 32 feet).

Cheers!

sir u can watch it Modern 9 MM have effective range of 50 meters but depending on skills one can hit target not beyond 30 meters.Even iof revolver bullets older ones reached 28 -30 meters with accrracy at 10 meters.
Singh Saab it would be great if you could please post pics of modified ashani pistol taken closely. The Pic on pdf of RFI is not clear and I m not in a place to go visit gun dealer and check it out. It would be of great help.

Hi,

Found this video, gives a close look of the Pistol! Certainly looks better than the old one.

mechanism is much better and megazine does not drop but only there was better in old version .It is no doubt it is good gun still we may curse IOF but despite private manufacturing entering market its products r more compact than big pistols of Private manufactuers and easier to caary.

Barrel bush problem is sorted out in GSF mk II but not in RFI mk II.

Barrel bush problem is not a big problem. We can fix the bush by applying adhesive like Fevitie rapid. It dries in five minutes and you are good to go.
