At the end of the day, buy what your heart tells you to. facing reality you're unlikely to put more than 100 shots down range given the ammo quota's in your lifetime.
One can argue ballistics till the cows come home, and it will not make an iota of a difference in the Indian scenario. A .416 Rigby is about as practical as a .22 LR in the Indian scenario. So go ahead and follow your heart. at least you will be happy.
what would be better 8x57 mauser or 30.06 eddy

Thanks! MoA
Would go for a .275 because of ammo availability and price. what would a good rifle in this caliber cost approx?( Average Condition)What are the different makes available in India?

Loved your statement MOA. Its true even today in 2019. Buy what your heart desires. It wont make a difference here in India and probably not in our lifetime. I have just got a licence for a 30 06. I wont argue its superiority/inferiority over 275/315/375/416. I have realised its worthless arguing in India.MoA wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:57 amAt the end of the day, buy what your heart tells you to. facing reality you're unlikely to put more than 100 shots down range given the ammo quota's in your lifetime.
