You can get .22 hi standard pistol for around 2.25 lacs.

Personally, I would recomend getting a .22 rifle to start

I would suggest a .22 Revolver,
If you are planning on a Hand Gun in the above Caliber.
If the Pistol has a Blow-Back design,
It may not Cycle smoothly with IOF Cartridges.
Also these Pistols can be fussy on the Cartridges.
The .22 Cartridge is not strong enough for easy Cycling.
It does not release enough energy and gas for the Slide to function efficiently.
All this said, there are several Pistols in the .22 Caliber,
Which have never had any issues.
And the owners swear by their Weapon.

Hello Ashwin. Vineet is correct. At your budget, hi-standard 0.22 pistol is probably only choice in India. It is a good pistol having many users in India and also available. (I have personally handled a few & plan to buy one someday). All the best.
