what is a gas alarm gun? does it take blanks only and make a loud bang? and is it legal to own in India?

If that is the case, I would love to get the Sig P239 gas model for my brother, that is the closest he can come to a Sig in India

Yes, the gas alarm gun is a dummy that makes a noise with caps. These are what are used in films and also, occasionally as starter pistols etc.

The company also mkaes firearms with very low power outputs in 4mm and 6mm though these, of course, would be banned in India.

Thanks to Phony Tony, the Brits cannot buy these anymore. The revolvers are made by Arminus/Weihrauch.

I have seen this stuff here at shops. The one that shoots blanks are used in sylvester's (new year's here) for making sound. one needs to be above 18 to buy this stuff.

They do look like and feel like real stuff, having been eyeing a colt 1911 for sometime now..

Hi Naren,

There are 2 categories we are talking about here..Air pistols which Mehul originally mentioned and the ones that fire blanks

The price ranges for air pistol are from 95 Euros for a PPK and about 198 for a Beretta 92 FS.

For the blank firing ones the range is similar about 109-138 Euros for a Colt 1911(depending on what handle you want) to about 350 for a Mauser C96.

Are you refering to is the CO2 verions? These are available in India on and off but at typically ridiculous Indian prices.

The Brocock system or the TAC (Tandem Air Cartridge) is a bit different. Each cartridge is basically a small pressure vessel which is filled with compressed air. This cartridge has a hollow nose cone that is unscrewed to seat the pellet and then screwed back onto the main body of the cartridge.

A pretty tedious process once the novelty has worn off.

The Brocock system had the potential to be an excellent training system for youngsters before they graduated to rimfire or centrefire bolt action rifles. If I remember, Brocock were predated by a company called Saxby and Palmer who made their rifles on Lee Enfield actions, a very realistic looking gun that was sold for a while in the UK before it too was banned.

Yes, that is correct. They used a slightly larger TAC as I recall.

Yes Mack The Knife, i was referring to CO2 guns. what i don't like about them is the operating cost. The CO2 Cartridges are pretty expensive and I personally don't see much value in those guns except for the look-alike value that they have. I would rather pick up a used FWB 65 or something.

And the TAC is new for me, I have no knowledge about them. Would ask around..

Well, there was this Mauser C96 which fires blanks..man this was something I would like to buy..Guess what the wooden cover was made by Delhi Gun house.

I just heard of this place and signed up. I have been waging a lone abttle against all authorities about imports, licensing etc. technically airguns canot be banned as imports. It is a long stor but the law is firmly on our side
